Biographical items series

Series is comprised of personal material from all three decades of Blondal’s life, and includes a grade 8 school report card, information for new mothers, a diary from Blondal’s time in London in 1951, as well as graphic materials and biographical notes (including two family trees).

Memorabilia

Memorabilia of the Wilkinson family including a bound birth date memory book, Christmas cards and invitations.

Manuscripts - Thomas Crosby

Series consists of manuscripts that include essays and notes that could have been used for sermons, biographies and plays about his life, his collections, diaries and ship logs, and a Pledge book with the names of the people of Port Simpson.

Correspondence, personal papers, and misc. publications

Series consists of the personal papers of Stephen, including correspondence, family photographs, historical family records, memorabilia, and an assortment of publications (magazines, newspapers, clippings, brochures, pamphlets, program guides, and more). These materials reflect the life of the creator, her family, friendships, interests, and work as a writer and educator. Series also includes materials related to Stephen's involvement with the Canadian Women's Press Club and the Vancouver branch of the Canadian Authors Association.

Reporting and writing for radio

Series consists of the materials produced by Stephen as part of her work as a radio reporter and producer. Most of the records are transcripts and drafts of stories written and presented by Stephen on her show "Story Time", which was sponsored by the British Columbia Parent Teachers' Federation and aired on the radio station CKMO. The main focus of this show was Indigenous stories and British Columbia history. Also included are transcripts of segments written for another show of Stephen's called "Indian Trails," as well as news and current events stories researched and reported by Stephen for other radio programs. This series also includes radio dramas written by Stephen.

Canadian Pacific Railway Company

Series consists of records related to the operations of the Canadian Pacific Railway Company, which was incorporated in 1881. The Chung Collection contains a wealth of unique materials related to the Canadian Pacific Railway Company and details its extensive operations ranging from the construction of the transcontinental railway to the development of new divisions to the experiences of travellers on C.P.R. ships, trains, and planes. The records in this series include photographs, historical documents, books, maps, pamphlets, and artefacts, and include a number of very rare items such as Alfred Waddington's "Overland Route through British North America" (1868).

This series has been arranged into eight subseries: the Canadian Pacific Railway, C.P.R. Steamships, Travel and Tourism with the C.P.R., the British Columbia Coast Steamship Service, Artwork and images of the C.P.R., C.P.R. artefacts, Working for the C.P.R., and the Esquimalt and Nanaimo Railway Company.

Photographs

Series primarily consists of photographs taken or collected by the Icelandic Archives of British Columbia (IABC). Photographs document events, exhibits, and research initiatives, and some photographs are previous collections acquired by the IABC during its existence.

Notable collections are photographs documenting Sunnybrook (File 46-11, including original collections by Edna Proctor, Dorothea Calverley, Thora Howell, Doug Palsson, Lucile Palsson, and Carol Greenhalgh); photographs taken by the curator of the IABC, Robert Ásgeirsson, organized by subject and community event (Files 15-03 to 15-43); and historical photographs of Hunter Island taken by E.J. Fríðleifson and research completed about the communities on Hunter Island (Files 46-12 to 46-18).

Photographs

Series primarily consists of photographs taken at the Scandinavian Festival 1986, and photographs of Society events. Also included in the series is one audio cassette that accompanied the Scandinavian Festival 1986 slide show created by the Society.

B.C. Young New Democrats

Series consists of records related to Johnson’s membership in the British Columbia Young New Democrats and his service as President of the organization in 1970.
Records consist of newspaper clippings, minutes, agendas, press releases, convention materials, publications, policy documents, correspondence and membership lists.

Notebooks

Series consists of notebooks not associated with any particular work by Lowry and Margerie, organized chronologically and by location. Both Lowry and Margerie kept notebooks, mostly palm sized and bound with staples, which they filled with thoughts and ideas, some of which developed into poems and manuscripts. Contents include bound notebooks, loose pages, and typewritten fragments of notes.
