Research/Lecture Notes series

Series consists of examinations, notes, manuals, correspondence and reports about individual courses and specific research projects taught or conducted by Eagles. Series contains two subseries: Course Materials and Miscellaneous Research Materials subseries. Course Materials subseries is arranged by course title

Photographs series

Series consists of photographs about the University of British Columbia and Eagles' personal life. Photographs are arranged in two sub-series: University-related images are listed in the UBC Archives Historical Photograph Database and numbered UBC 11.1; personal and family photos are numbered UBC 11.2. Miscellaneous Personal Materials series

Series consists of prizes, correspondence, printed material, addresses, notes, publications, appointment books, photographs, minutes, and reports generated or collected by Eagles. Series contains four subseries: Student Awards, Social Events, Organizations with which Eagles associated, and Miscellaneous Subject Files subseries.

UBC History series

Series consists of correspondence, lists of graduates (1916-1929), minutes, reminiscences, clippings, programs, and printed material about the Fairview Committee, sub-committees of the Heritage Committee, the Lampman Report, and the Student Publicity Campaign (1930-1932). Series also includes clippings and printed material assembled by Eagles and about UBC Presidents.

Faculty of Agriculture Material series

Series consists of reports, articles, correspondence, minutes, addresses, building plans, printed material, photographs, and reports pertaining to the Faculty of Agriculture. Series includes materials pertaining to the 50th anniversary of the first class of students in the Faculty of Agriculture and the Opening of the H.R. MacMillan Building (1967).

L.S. Klinck sous-fonds

Sous-fonds consists of material generated by Klinck and records accumulated after his death by his wife Elizabeth, who passed this material on to Eagles. In addition, the sous-fonds contains biographical information, addresses/speeches, subject files, and a personal material series.

Cartography series

Series consists of correspondence and manuscripts pertaining to Verner's published and unpublished works in the area of historical map description. Verner was renowned in the map world for his scholarship in this area. Series also includes a collection of over 400 published maps and a considerable amount of research material, mainly in the form of index cards containing bibliographic descriptions. Appendices contained in the paper copy of this description and file list (located at UBC Archives) provide a listing of other materials he collected in the pursuit of this interest: title pages from atlases, facsimiles, photostats of maps, and miscellaneous cased items.

Fonds consists of a “transit book” – a bound notebook used by Hal Norman for notes and measurements taken during his Surveying course in 1923 – and three maps of UBC’s Fairview and Point Grey campuses, hand-drawn in 1923 and plotted in 1976.

Department / Faculty Records series

Series consists of minutes of meetings, speeches, printed materials, publications, and curriculum materials about the Department of Forestry. Series also includes employment data about Forestry graduates (1955-1963).

Teaching Material series

Series consists of course notes, reports, examinations, class records, and course outlines about Knapp's teaching activities within the Department of Forestry.

Professional Material series

Series consists of reports, briefs, correspondence, surveys, clippings, and printed materials about Knapp's professional activities in the area of forestry.

Personal Material series

Series consists of correspondence, printed materials, clippings, addresses, reports, and notebooks about Knapp's research and involvement with various associations. Series also includes biographical materials about Knapp.

Photograph series

Series consists of photographs about Knapp's professional and personal life. Series includes slides.

Clippings series

Series consists of newspaper clippings about sports, sports periodicals, and writings on various sports techniques. Series includes clippings of Gnup's column, "Gnupermania," from The Courier. Series also includes photocopies and clippings of newspaper articles that refer to the late Frank Gnup and would have been added to his papers after his death in 1976.

Personal series

Series consists of certificates of achievement awarded to Gnup both as a student and as a coach, a pencil and brush drawing of Gnup, an Aliquippa Sports Hall of Fame programme (1974), newspaper articles concerning his retirement party, letters of condolence, notices of tribute programs, photocopies of memorial articles, and recordings of a football comedy sketch and a Gnup family conversation.

Player Statistics series

Series consists of statistics about UBC football players. Series also includes a list of award recipients and records set between 1968-1970.

Athletic Associations series

Series consists of correspondence and newsletters from athletic associations, including the Western Canadian Intercollegiate Athletic Association (WCIAA), the Canadian Football Coaches Association, and the American Football Coaches Association. In addition, the series includes letters from Universities, Colleges, CFL and NFL team coaches.

Correspondence series

Series consists of correspondence between Gnup and prospective players, representatives from professional football teams, coaches from Canadian and American colleges and universities, and various football associations. Series includes correspondence relating to Gnup's role as the coach of the UBC Thunderbirds. Series also consists of personal letters written to Gnup, sometimes addressed to his wife, from family members and friends.

Photograph series

The series consists of 379 photographs that feature Frank Gnup, beginning in his late teens through his career as a football coach at the University of British Columbia. Images numbered 61.1/1-158 have been scanned and added to the UBC Historical Photographs database at: digitalcollections.library.ubc.ca.
The remaining miscellaneous photographs have not been described individually and are stored in with the textual material in Box 10, OVR1 61.1/159, and OVR3 61.1/160.

Pigskin Party series

Series consists of guest lists, invitees' business cards, newsletters, correspondence, thank-you notes, and ticket receipts concerning the annual Pigskin Party.

The fonds consists of records of Watter's work on a variety of publications and as editor-in-chief of the Anthology. Fonds includes correspondence with individuals associated with the publication (1956-1958), correspondence with contributors (1957), manuscripts of articles and poems (both accepted and rejected), page proofs, and reviews of the book (1958). Also included is a typed manuscript for the "Checklist of Canadian Literature".

Series consists of typed manuscripts and page proofs for both the Anthology and A Checklist of Canadian Literature. It is arranged in the sub-series Manuscripts, Rejected Manuscripts, Page Proofs - Anthology, and Typed Manuscript - A Checklist of Canadian Literature.

Family History series

Series consists of extensive research notes, draft manuscripts and source materials used by Williams in conducting family history research. Copies of "The Bowerman Family, 1379 to the Present: English, American, Canadian" [CS 71 B69 W4] and "The Samuel Williams, Jemima Platt Family" [CS 90 W54] are available in Special Collections as well as in the fonds. Series also includes three postcard albums collected by M.Y. Williams' mother, Carrie Williams and numerous photographs.

Publications series

Series consists of copies of all of M.Y. William's publications which formed part of the papers. As established by Williams' bibliography, the publications have been divided into the following categories: "Geology," "Geography," and "Ornithology and Zoology."

Manuscripts / Research Notes series

Series consists of manuscripts, research materials and correspondence relating to M.Y. William's publications and reports.

Items in file 13-3a "Birds of Hong Kong" were transferred to the University Archives by David Mattison of the British Columbia Archives.
