Fonds consists of records documenting the history of the Volkoff family, in particular the life and career of George Volkoff. It includes manuscripts, correspondence, research notes, academic records and other official documentation, certificates, published items, photographs (black and white prints of various sizes, black and white 35mm negatives, and digital scans from original prints), memorabilia, and digital media. The fonds consists of seven incoming letters from Jane Rule to Ann Micou dating from 2003 to 2007. The last letter is dated October 8, 2007, and was written a little over a month before Jane Rule’s death. The fonds also includes four CD’s featuring Jane Rule reading a selection of her short stories including “House,” “A Chair for George,” “Seaweed & Song,” “You Cannot Judge a Pumpkin by the Smile Upon His Face,” “A Migrant’s Christmas,” “If There is No Gate,” “Home Movie,” “Blessed are the Dead,” and “Dulce.” Apparently, the recordings were produced in a small number for distribution to family and friends. The fonds also includes a copy of a videotape entitled Fiction and Other Truths: A Film About Jane Rule (Eds. Lynne Fernie, Aerlyn Weissman).

File consists primarily of correspondence between Spring and Captain Cereno Jones Kelley that references exchanges of statements, information, and figures relating to claims for vessels "Kate" and "Favourite." The file also includes a copy of Kelley's letter to F.B. Marvin & Co. upon the seizure of the steamer "Coquitlam," and a document regarding the "Modus Vivendi" on C.J. Kelley & Co. stationery in an unknown hand.

The fonds consists of records made and received by Laurenda Daniells in her professional and personal life. The fonds documents her involvement and participation in conferences, and various professional archival associations, such as ACA, SAA, ARMA, etc., and Vancouver Historical Society. Also included are records of Laurenda’s time with the UBC’s Faculty Association and her research on university archives policy and copyright. The fonds contain incoming and outgoing correspondence to family, friends, and colleagues from other organizations. The records relate primarily to McDonald's professional teaching, writing and research work and, to a much lesser extent, are records about his personal life. The course teaching materials include outlines and syllabi, lecture notes, class handouts, newspaper clippings, website printouts, and other materials used to develop course content. Records relating to McDonald's writing include typescript drafts, off-prints, handwritten notes, conference papers, and correspondence. The most extensive records relate to McDonald's research. They include newspaper clippings and other published items, copies of articles annotated by McDonald's, handwritten index cards with notes and citations, correspondence, and audio recordings of interviews, music and speeches. Finally, records related to awards and recognition received include curriculum vitae, certificates, correspondence and McDonald's Killam Teaching Award from 2000.

The fonds consists of records relating to the teaching, research and supervision work of Edmond Granirer. The records in this fonds include published math articles, correspondence with colleagues and organizations, lecture notes and presentations on Algebra given around the world. There are also records of his early career in the US and student evaluations of his classes. Also in the fonds are newspaper clippings, reports, programs and photographs. The records have been divided into four series Career Records, Published Papers, Lectures and Conferences, and Correspondence.

Records include "Second draft of amendments to Industrial Health & Safety Regulations (First Aid Section)" from the Worker's Compensation Board of British Columbia (dated September 25, 1978), documents produced by Local 1's Working Conditions Committee, correspondence regarding working conditions, an inspection report, a report regarding the detrimental effects of fluorescent lighting, and a newspaper clipping regarding stretching exercises for office workers.

Fonds contains two series: Research Collections (1580-1993) and Personal Material (1934-1999).

The collection consists of records associated with Librarian Ture Erickson's participation on the Day of Concern Committee in 1984. The material begins early in 1984 and continues through to the September "Day of Concern." Included are handwritten minutes of the meetings, printed material, correspondence, clippings, memorabilia, posters and copies of addresses given at the Robson Square Media Centre.

Fonds consists of photocopies of the wills of Emily Carr (1945) and Ira Dilworth (1954), regarding the ownership of Carr's copyright. The fonds also includes correspondence (1967-1983) from artist Gordon Smith addressed to John Parnall and his family, as well as printed material regarding Smith. Also included are Parnall's certificates of service from the Pacific Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers.

The fonds consists of a variety of materials, but the focus is the creative writing of Bullock, in many genres. Represented in collections are prose and poetry, both published and unpublished, along with hundreds of individual works, covering not only poetry and prose poems, but academic essays, autobiographical accounts, and plays, as well as a prodigious amount of notes. The fonds also contains material relating to Bullocks work as a translator and includes a variety of genres translated into English from the original French, German, or Italian. The fonds also includes correspondence of both a professional and personal nature. The correspondence from 1935 illustrates the business life of a professional writer; it also contains a wealth of personal correspondence that helps solidify Bullock's stature as a writer both locally and internationally. Impressive figures such as Marcel Bealu, Max Frisch, and Joy Kogawa are intermingled with less well-known artists, friends, and family in the correspondence, and provide valuable commentary, over nearly 70 years, into the creative path chosen by Bullock.

This correspondence provides significant information about Spencer's research at the University as well as the study of entomology in British Columbia. In addition, the fonds also includes copies of student examinations (1924-1955), recommendations (1936-1959) and printed material.

The fonds consists of minutes, reports, correspondence and published material generated by various organizations with which Conway has been associated. Records represented in the papers include Student Christian Movement (1956-2013), World University Service of Canada (1957-2009), United Nations Association (1959-1990), Canadian Council for International Cooperation (1967-1978), Canadian University Service Overseas (1961- 1991), Vancouver Refugee Council (1985-1989), Canadian Institute of International Affairs (1971-78, 1987-2000), Tibetan Refugee Aid Society (1985-1989), and Canadian Cross Roads International (1966-1990), among others. Other administrative records include material from the Faculty of Arts (1968-1991) and the Department of History (1958-2009). The papers include documents from the William G. Murrin Fund Committee (1979-1993), allocating funding to religious organizations at UBC. John Conway's professional correspondence (1963-2016) is also included.

The collection documents Mark Thompson's involvement in the arbitration of labour disputes in British Columbia. It consists of published conference proceedings (1967-1979), copies of various collective agreements, arbitration and mediation case files (1973-1988), and reviews of the Employment Standards Act (1990-1996), and includes correspondence, reports, legal documents, notes, and published materials.

The fonds consists of correspondence, reports, and minutes which document Rosenbluth's involvement with various associations and committees including the UBC Board of Governors and the Canadian Economic Association. The bulk of the material consists of files from the 1960s when he was chairman of the Salaries Committee of the Canadian Association of University Teachers.

Fonds consists of minutes of meetings, correspondence, reports, printed material, and publications pertaining to Watson's professional activities and affiliations. Fonds includes materials pertaining to the Engineering Science Leads Committee of the B.C. Agricultural Sciences Co-ordinating Committee (BCSCC) on which Watson sat for the period 1967-1978. Composed of representatives of the Provincial Ministry of Agriculture, Agriculture Canada, and the UBC Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, the Committee advised the Minister of Agriculture and allotted research funds for research projects within the province.

The papers consist of McLennan's reminiscences of his Fairview days and life as a Rhodes scholar. Also included is a series of correspondence dating from 1924 to 1976. The correspondence has been arranged in two ways. The general correspondence has been simply arranged chronologically while other letters and cards, which McLennan sent to the Archives as identified groups, have been maintained as such. The papers also include printed material from the Canadian Association of Rhodes Scholars and Balliol College.

Lloyd and Michael Lerner), published material of Igor Kosin (former student and expert in Russian literature), a typewritten manuscript by Biely entitled "Poultry Research - A Personal Experience (1928-1978)", and undated high school correspondence course outlines.

The fonds consists of records which document the historical development of the School of Rehabilitation Medicine. The fonds includes records from the Cooperative Committee Towards a School of Rehabilitation Medicine (1956-1961), Hood's notes on course and curriculum development (1961-1963), correspondence (1962-1973), and printed material relating to occupational therapy and rehabilitation medicine.

The records offer extensive evidence of Scott's activities of teaching, research, publications and involvement with various government economic commissions. Also included are photographs (most of which are included in two scrapbooks), and a CD containing digital versions of much of Scott's written work since 1980.

In addition, the fonds includes materials relating to the election and appointment of individuals to the Senate. Also included are minutes, correspondence, reports and other records created by affiliated agencies, including the Committee of Military Education of McGill University College (1915), the U.B.C. Faculty Council (1927-1973), and the Executive Council of Convocation (1964-1965). Fonds is arranged in nine series: Senate minutes (1916-2005), Senate reports (1929-2010), Correspondence (1931- 1982), Senate elections (1912-1963), Board of Governors' approvals (1966-1983), Subject files (1915-1981), Affiliation of theological colleges (1921-1984), Senate committees (1915-1990), and External agencies (1915-1973).

The fonds consist of proceedings, correspondence, minutes, reports, statistics, program and course descriptions, proposals, news releases, and publications. Many of the records originated from the Director's Office of the Centre for Continuing Education, and its predecessor, the Department of University Extension. They document these units' functions, activities, policies, and relationships with other University bodies and external agencies. Also included are audio recordings of lectures and other events sponsored by the Centre. There are also records from the office of the Associate Vice-President, Academic, from when he oversaw the operations of the Centre between 1988 and 1991. Other materials originated from the Women's Resources Centre: three folders of reports, correspondence, and photocopied newspaper clippings relating to the 1971 Status of Women conference, and over thirty publications dealing with women's issues.
A 2017 accrual of material more than doubled the size of the fonds. These records included small additions to the following series: Central Office Files, Administrative Committees, and Staff Relations. More significant additions were added to the Projects and Series, Programs, UBC Departments, UBC Committees, and External Bodies series. Additionally, a significant addition to the fonds was made in the resources series, which includes proceedings and course materials.
A 2018 accrual moderately increased the size of the fonds. Some files from folders without the typical alpha-numerical filing system pattern were placed with the Central Office series. Their contents matched the series description, including grant proposals, memos, correspondence, and budget information. Two new series were added, General History and Associate Vice-President Academic (Dr. Walter Uegama). Dr. McClean's series received additions from the 1992 re-organization and the Strategic Planning of 1993. Projects and Studies, UBC Committees, and UBC Departments series received significant additions as well. External Bodies received an increase, primarily related to CAUCE. The Liaison with External Agencies, Policies and Procedures, Programs, Special Events, and Status of Women series received small additions.

Fonds consists of correspondence, inventories, budgets, articles, clippings, printed material, awards, ownership papers, photographs, and an album about the Department of Animal Husbandry administration and judging competitions. Fonds includes materials regarding the livestock breed by the department and the much-acclaimed cattle herds.

Fonds covers an extended period, beginning with administrative material, which includes departmental budgets dating back to the early 1920s and continuing through the 1950s. There are also some departmental minutes from the 1940s and 1950s and most of the 1960s. There are records about the construction and renovation of the Biological Sciences Building, minutes from the various committees on which department heads sat, and material about UBC's Botanical Garden. There is also a brief but useful series of records concerning the Life Sciences Council's implementation and early history.

The collection consists of student records and correspondence between E.H. Morrow and Fred Sasaki, Oyama Kazuhiko, David Shiozake, Peter Yamada and George Yamashita (1940-1950). The correspondence files provide an account of the treatment accorded Japanese-Canadians in the 1940s. There is also a copy of an article from Viewpoints inspired by the information in the files, as well as some follow-up correspondence with the former students.

The sous-fonds consists of miscellaneous personal correspondence and notes regarding Dr. Slaymaker's research interests. The Miscellaneous series is the only series in the sous-fonds.
