Schools subseries

Within the subseries, projects are arranged alphabetically by school district and school and then in chronological order.
Of the architectural drawings, 20 from Shawnigan Lake Boys School are from the 1990 accession and are described separately.

Technical Reports series

The series consists of technical reports related to the workings and issues of the various IIPS sub-models, programs, theories and operations. Reports vary in length, topic, and level of sophistication. This series is where how IIPS was to work and is theorized are documented.

Executive series

Series consists of correspondence, minutes of meetings, annual reports, and treasurer's reports created and received by the Executive Committee of the Faculty Women's Club. Five subseries are included: General, Meetings - Executive and General, Annual Reports, Correspondence - General, Correspondence - Subject Files, and Treasurer subseries.

Writings series

Series contains drafts of articles and books, both published and unpublished, by F.L.S. Upton as well as related correspondence. The series includes subject files on Dictionary of Canadian Biography entries, book reviews and published articles written by Upton.

Examinations series

Series consists of student examinations and recommendations about Spencer's teaching activities at UBC. Series also includes correspondence and a list of materials regarding the Alice MacDougal Aphid Collection.

Student Christian Movement (UBC) series

Series consists of records of this interdenominational group, a branch of the World Student Christian Federation. The material reflects the ecumenical movement and various religious groups on campus. Records relating to the Murrin Fund are also included.

World University Service of Canada (UBC) series

Series consists of records from the WUSC, an organization that attempts to arouse the interest of Canadian students and faculty in the problems and aspirations of colleagues in other countries. This material demonstrates the various fund-raising techniques to promote international awareness and exchange. It also includes material on UBC's refugee student sponsorship scheme.

Andrew Hutchinson fonds

Fonds consists of course materials, correspondence, subject files, reports, clippings, printed material, and index cards, relating to Hutchinson's work with the UBC Department of Biology and Botany. The fonds reflects his research interests, which included studies of conifers, forest ecology and tree genetics, particularly of the Douglas fir; to a limited extent, his personal life is also documented. The fonds also includes approximately 3,600 photographic negatives and prints (most black and white, some in colour), 1,200 lantern slides, and some transparencies. The photographs are mainly microscopic images of plants and trees in British Columbia, Mexico, Cuba, Florida and South Africa in the early part of the twentieth century. There is also a photograph album accompanying Hutchinson's report Grazing Lands in British Columbia. Finally, there are maps, charts, and diagrams, which are listed and stored separately.

Series consists of programs, scrapbooks and speeches relating to the lectures presented by the Vancouver Institute.

Photograph series

Series consists of photographs about the Fairbridge Farm School, members of the Logan family, the Military, scenery, Psi Upsilon, and UBC.

Speeches series

Series consists of the text of speeches given by Harry Logan and notes, legal documents, and scrapbooks.

Employment Standards Act series

This series consists of correspondence, briefs, notes of hearings and papers reviewing the Employment Standards Act. Meeting minutes of the Employment Standards Review Committee are also included, and copies of research and documents on Employment Standards and conditions in Canada.

Miscellaneous Organizations series

Series consists of correspondence, notes, reports, bylaws, minutes, newsletters, and memoranda about organizations other than the U.B.C. Health Sciences Centre, which either relates directly to the Centre or Detwiller's interests such as the Cedar Lodge Society.

Peter Pearse fonds

The fonds consists of briefs presented to the Royal Commission on Forest Resources in British Columbia. The Commission received 194 briefs from a wide range of interested societies, firms, professional associations, local governments, labour groups, and other organizations, as well as individuals. The fonds also includes briefs from both the Forest Policy Advisory Committee (1977) which invited submissions reacting to Pearse's final report and from the Select Standing Committee on Forestry and Fisheries (1973). There is also a small collection of speeches by others pertaining to the forest industry (1955-1971).

Faculty Association of the University of British Columbia fonds

The fonds consists of records generated by the Faculty Association in pursuit of its mandate to promote the welfare of the Faculty and the University of British Columbia. The records were organized according to several filing schemes, which were alphabetical, and constantly changing. Lack of consistency in the arrangement of the records impeded access. The archivist grouped the files into fifteen identifiable series. The original file titles have been retained.

President's Files series

Series includes records relating to the activities and responsibilities of Faculty Association presidents, consisting mainly of correspondence and annual presidential reports. Reports of the President can also be found with minutes of Annual General meetings in the series Meetings - general and special.

Alumni Association fonds

The fonds consists mainly of records generated by the Alumni Association in the course of its programs and activities and by its branches and divisions. The records are in the form of correspondence, reports, minutes of meetings, manuscripts for The Chronicle, and some published materials. Also included in the fonds are materials of historical interest collected by Frances Tucker in the course of her research for a history of the Association published for its fiftieth anniversary in 1966; these consist of written notes, clippings and other published materials, scrapbooks, photographs, correspondence, the first draft of her project, and index cards. Finally, the records of Harry Franklin, Executive Director from 1972 to 1979, are included; the files contain some Association records as well as Franklin's. Records stored in boxes 1-20 date from 1911 to 1966, and the rest date from 1955 to 1992. Because of the long time period between the accessions of these two bodies of records, and their different organization, they have not been physically integrated. Wherever possible, their original order has been maintained or restored. Executive Director's Files series

Series consists of correspondence, financial statements, questionnaires, reports, surveys, minutes of meetings, programs, and notes about the Executive Director's involvement in various committees and events. Series contains four subseries: General Files, Annual Reports, Alumni Fund, and 75th Anniversary subseries. General Files subseries are arranged in chronological order, and within each chronological group, in alphabetical order.

Harry Franklin's Files series

Series consists of correspondence, reports, budgets, and minutes of meetings pertaining to Harry Franklin's Executive Directorship from 1972 to 1979. Also included is some of Franklin’s personal correspondence, and a copy of Larry MacKenzie: memoirs of a Canadian, an unpublished autobiography by UBC President N.A.M. MacKenzie, acquired from UBC Board of Governors member Joy McCusker.

Personal Papers series

Series consists of academic and personal material and documents Walter Young's intellectual and political activities and interests. It includes correspondence, minutes and agendas, reports, lecture notes and other course materials, financial statements, manuscripts, index cards, and publications. Materials related to the New Democratic Party mainly were direct acquisitions, as Young was a founding member of the NDP, and include letters and papers from, to, or concerning such notables as T.C. Douglas, David Lewis, and Ed Schreyer. Records documenting Young's position and activities at the University of Victoria were inventoried separately by his secretary Frances Bird and subsequently added as a distinct sub-series.

The series includes records related to the Fraser River Model Engineering project. Including scientific notes, publications and reports generated by Pretious.

George Woodcock fonds
