Silver-Lead Miners Association of British Columbia records
This series includes articles of association, bylaws, voter’s lists, minutes from general meetings, committee reports and resolutions and financial records. In addition, there is correspondence, minutes and other records relating to an eight hour shift dispute which occurred from 1899-1900. Of particular interest are the records of the Pinkerton National Detective Agency and the Thiel Detective Services Company. These relate to the Coeur d’Alenes riot and the men working at the time. Operative reports regarding union meetings are included.

There are newspaper clippings dating from 1901-1947, and a copy of “As it was in the Beginning: The History of Sandon”.

This series consists of records of the United Fishermen's Welfare Fund (1964-1965), the Pilchard and Herring Welfare Fund (1957-1961), the Longliners Welfare Fund (1959), the Halibut Welfare Fund (1961), and several other smaller funds. Records include articles, by-laws, financial statements and correspondence. The folders are arranged by Fund names, with the smaller ones grouped together.

This series consists of copies of various fishing or water related regulations and statutes adopted or in development. The Bills include; Bill C-2 (the administration and development of certain fishing and recreational harbours in Canada); Bill C-6 and C-61 (Canadian ports); Bill C-38 (Act amending the Fisheries Act); and Bill C-41 (Act providing a maritime code for Canada and amending the Canada Shipping Act). There are also reports, studies, proposals and correspondence from both the F.V.O.A. and governmental bodies relating to the above regulations and legislation, the Canadian Vessel Construction Act, and the National Research Council of Canada. The fishing and water related regulations are arranged by date; regulations to 1951, 1952-1955, 1953-1962, and include not only copies of regulations but reports, bulletins, proposals and correspondence as well. The folders are arranged by date.
This series includes the records of both Canadian and American organizations/ governmental bodies whose business is directly related to the FVOA The organizations represented include; the Fisheries Development Council (1956-1957, 1959, 1961-1962, 1964), records consist of correspondence, minutes, press releases, reports, and information concerning the Department of Fisheries; the Dominion Bureau of Statistics (1957-1959, records include reports on fish freezing and stocks; the United States Department of Interior Fish and Wildlife Service Bureau of Commercial Fisheries (1958-1962), records include frozen fish reports and annual reports; and the Department of Fisheries (1948-1973), fish marketing reports, regulations for inspections, collection of statistics, storage and refrigeration, and reports, correspondence relating to improving quality standards, and a survey map of the Bay of Fundy area ca. 1926-1927. There are also records of the United Fisherman and Allied Workers Union (UFAWU), 1939-1966, which include policy statements, memoranda, press releases, newspaper clippings and documents relating to grievances. In addition, there is a copy of a speech given at the UFAWU's 1954 annual meeting by the Right Honorable James Sinclair. The minutes, releases, allocation plan and motions of the Fisheries Management Advisory Council (MAC) are also included in this series. Another folder contains the transcript of a 1957 inquiry brought against the FVOA under the Combines Investigation Act following complaints from the UFAWU and the Native Brotherhood. The folders are arranged according to the organization's names and subjects.
This series consist of an assortment of records relating to the vast number of issues that concern the FVOA or directly relate to its operations. The Subjects include; the environment, fishing and vessels, spawning, fueling needs, membership, patrols, First Nations, Transport Canada policies and procedures, correspondence to and from the UFAWU, and correspondence to and from the FVOA management with numerous relevant individuals,
groups, associations, and governmental bodies. The folders are arranged by date.
Includes Land Referrals (applications for use of Crown Land), some with maps attached. The Referrals are sent to the FVOA for their consideration. Series includes responses from the FVOA including reasons for approval or rejection, listings of referral numbers, applicant names, land locations, chart numbers, and general correspondence. There are interspersed records which relate to general business such as employment, membership, mailing lists, donations, video productions, First Nations issues (agreement drafts), The Coast Guard, and numerous other fish and water concerns. The folders are arranged by date, land referral number and/or geographical area.
This series includes the minutes, reports and correspondence of the Herring Management Working Group and the Herring Industry Advisory Board, correspondence relating to herring from the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, and material concerning herring management and allocation, catches and value, and herring fisheries. In addition, there are records which document herring allocation class actions.

This majority of the material in this series relates to various groups involved in the issues surrounding Salmon. These include the Salmonid Enhancement Task Group (SETG), the Fraser River Panel (the Fraser River Estuary Study), the Pacific Salmon Commission, the Pacific Trollers Association, the Salmon Marketing Council, and relevant governmental departments such as Canada's Department of Fisheries and Oceans. This material pertains to;
salmon runs, allocations, catches and stocks, fishing seasons, court decisions, river boundaries, salmon fisheries, vessels, test fishing policies and test areas, and spawning. The majority of this information concerns Canadian-U.S. relations and negotiations on the issues outlined above. The types of material include; minutes, reports, press releases, bulletins, conference publications, statistical data, directories, meeting agendas, maps and correspondence. There is one copy of Canada's section of the Pacific Salmon Treaty. Although incomplete, the Pacific Coast Salmon Seiners Association's publication, 'The Beachline' is also included. The folders are arranged by topics, and/or subject names.
The series consists of a wide variety of records pertaining to the early years of the FVOA. The records contained in this series are a product of general administration of the association, member meetings, initiatives undertaken in cooperation with related organizations, as well as legal and arbitrative processes. A large portion of these records relates to the 1938 amendments to the Fisheries Act, which increased inspection requirements for fishing vessels. The series contains meeting minutes, administrative records, and correspondence. The series contains a survey of vessels owned by association members.

Series consists of transcripts of interviews conducted with the friends, family, and associates of Malcolm Lowry and Lowry scholars for the documentary, as well as a final transcript of the completed film. The producers of the film conducted interviews with 46 people in England, Canada, and Mexico, though not all of the interviews were used in the final film, including an interview with Jan Gabrial, which was conducted after the documentary was completed. The majority of the interviews were conducted by Robert Duncan with a few being conducted by Donald Brittain. The interview transcripts include annotations that may indicate the sections considered for use in the film. Interview transcripts are arranged by film roll numbers or location roll numbers, numbers given to each ten-minute film roll for editing and record-keeping purposes. The roll numbers correspond to the chronological order in which the interviews took place. The series is arranged into 39 files. Files are named according to the interview subject(s) and the film roll number(s).

Series documents the planning, research, production, and post-production activities for “Volcano” between 1974 and 1977. Planning-related material includes incoming and outgoing correspondence, draft and final film proposals, and budgets and cost breakdowns. Research-related material includes copies of newspaper articles and other biographical information on Lowry. Production-related material includes incoming and outgoing correspondence, memoranda, notes, schedules, filming permits, customs forms, expense reports, requisitions for cheques, camera negative reports, photos of the filming process, and other documents. Correspondence includes letters to and from interview subjects, including Russell Lowry, Jan Gabrial, Marjorie Bonner Lowry, and others. Production-related material also includes examples of photographic stills of Lowry used in the film. Post-production-related material includes draft and final promotional materials, the program from the 49th Academy Awards, and a proposal for a book project based on the film.
