Pipeline Project series

Series consists of records created and used by the Women's Research Centre in the process of researching the social and economic effects of the Alaska Highway Gas Pipeline on the lives of women and their families. The Women's Research Centre communicated with various groups and organizations such as the National Action Committee on the Status of Women, Royal Commission on the Economic Union and Development Prospects for Canada, Community Education consultants in Northern British Columbia, economic development think tanks, New Democratic Party (NDP) Action Groups, and the Ministry of Economic Development. The Women's Research Centre gathered data on Northern women's experiences and reactions to the Alaska Highway Gas Pipeline by conducting extensive interviews with women in Fort Nelson and Whitehorse. Series consists of correspondence, hard-copy presentations to the Ministry of Economic Development, memos, appendixes, handwritten and typed notes, extensive articles and photocopies of articles, Economic Development Conference evaluation forms, a list of resolutions, work plans, extensive drafts and completed copies of various reports about urban expansion, the gendered division of labour, women's role in economic development and the exclusion of women from full economic participation, a Northern perspective on health and social services for women, research into energy development and social institutions impacted by the construction of the Alaska Highway and Northern Gas Pipeline as experienced from the perspective of women in Northern communities, and the socio-economic effects of the Alaska Highway Gas Pipeline on the lives of women and their families. In addition, there are legal reports on forestry and logging, mailing lists, workshop summaries, grant proposals, copies of book chapters, newsletters, lists of publications, agendas, meeting minutes, list of farm tree license renewals, photocopies of Bill 14 - the New Forest Act, Hansard vol. 4, no.20, extensive material about the New Forest Act, maps, extensive Whitehorse and Fort Nelson interview transcripts, social impact assessments, Northern Pipeline Agency Act, conference announcements, newspapers, news clippings, research project proposal, briefs, interview guides, workshop issues list, analytical framework sheets, press releases, project evaluations, charts and spreadsheets, regulations, and project outlines.

UBC Football Programs series

Twenty-two UBC Football programs make up this series and are dated between 1951-1992. On October 20, 1951, the football program included photographs of Prince Phillip and Queen Elizabeth at their first Canadian Football game. The file also contains an article by Athletics Historian Fred Hume on that visit and a biography of Dr. Bob Hindmarch. Please see the finding aid for a list of programs.

Career Records series

The series consists of records relating to Granirer’s teaching career. This series includes a Curriculum Vitae, US immigration papers, correspondence and employment notices. Also present are student evaluations of Granirer’s classes.

Published Papers series

This series contains published journal papers by Granirer. In addition, the series comprises paper corrections, correspondence, and work with Anthony Lau, including math propositions and a notebook.

Lectures and Conferences series

Granirer presented lectures on Algebra around the world. This series contains his lecture notes and acetates on his talks in Europe, North America, South America and Asia. There are also photographs of Granirer and attendees of these conferences, including his final conference at UBC in 1997.

Correspondence series

This series includes incoming and outgoing correspondence related to Granirer’s teaching and professional career. Invites to speak at conferences, correspondence with the Royal Society of Canada, and awarded research grants are included. Also in this series are reports, newspaper clippings, programs and honorary awards.

Publications series

The series consists of journals in which Fulton has a published article, as well as two books on feminism that are personalized to Fulton.

Development series

Series consists of correspondence, maps, minutes and information kits related to the development, construction, and upgrading of buildings at the UBC Campus. In addition, it includes consultation on expected infrastructure costs for projects not managed by the department/UBC and collaboration with other development partners/units at UBC.

Project Files series

Series consists of correspondence, timelines, technical diagrams and plans resulting from planning the development of infrastructure and utility infrastructure on campus, such as seismic upgrades, putting in gas lines, upgrading power lines, and other projects carried out by UBC.
