The collection consists of four parts: (1) photocopied and original newsletters, pamphlets, publications, clippings and printed material in general; (2) manuscript collections and personal papers (most copied from original material held elsewhere); (3) microfilms; and, (4) photographs. The manuscript files include the papers or records of Koozma John Tarasoff, Union of Doukhobors of Canada, Consultative Committee on Doukhobors, Stefan Sorokin, W.A. Makaseyoff, Peter V. Verigin, John G. Bondoreff, Christian Community and Brotherhood of Reformed Doukhobors, Peter Maloff, Alex Popoff, Eli Popoff, James Mavor, David Henderson, Claude Fisher, Peter Brock and Ivan Swetlishnoff. All the material relates to the history and activities of Doukhobors throughout the world as well as in British Columbia and Saskatchewan.

This fonds contains Ada Luise Richardson's research notes on music history and theory. Her research focused on Finnland and Russia and was conducted in the beginning of the 20th century. For her research Richardson collected Russian and Finnish folklore songs, as well as newspaper clippings and excerpts from contemporary literature. Richardson's research notes were meant to be the basis of papers on music history and theory. The fonds contains music sheets and some pieces of correspondence, as well.

Fonds consists of personal and business records of Peter Faminow, related to his personal and family life, career as a lawyer and a politician, and his interests and involvement in the Doukhobor community. Records include correspondence, clippings and scrapbooks, photographs, audio recordings, papers, speeches, and other textual records. The fonds is arranged into the following series: Family records, Records related to education, Records related to law practice and career, Doukhobor related files, Scrapbooks and clippings, and Audio recordings.

Larry Ewashen fonds

Fonds consists of records related to the documentary film which Ewashen directed entitled In search of utopia: the Doukhobors, produced under the name Gemini Cooperative for the Performing Arts. Other individuals involved in the film included Ray Gallon, Koozma Tarasoff and Ken Innes. Records consist of two copies of the film on reels, a shot book containing copies of historical photographs and correspondence, contracts and other textual records related to the production and promotion of the film, and a teacher’s manual and study guide.

Jim Hamm Doukhobor Research Collection

The Jim Hamm Doukhobor Research Collection consists of two VHS copies of the documentary film, The Spirit Wrestlers, and other materials relating to the production of the film such as Betacam SP videos (camera masters), VHS videos screening copies, 35mm slides, digital photos on CD, audio cassettes and transcripts of the interviews in hard copy and on CD. In addition, footage logs, printed material, photographs and photocopies of photographs relating to the film have been created or collected, 1999-2002.

Amy Coles Kirby fonds

The fonds consists of typescript memoirs of Kirby's experience as an English tutor in Russia. The memoirs chronicle life in Russia from 1879 to 1883 and also the subsequent experiences of one of the Alexieff children, Princess Vera Urusov, who suffered tremendous personal hardships during the Russian Revolution.
