UBC Sedgewick Undergraduate Library.

Series consists of publications, photographs, correspondence, overhead projector transparencies and miscellaneous records pertaining to the UBC Sedgewick Undergraduate Library, a project completed by the Rhone & Iredale, Architects.

Series consists of materials documenting Chong’s time as a student at the University of British Columbia and includes correspondence, course materials, written assignments, and published materials.

The series consists of correspondence, reports, minutes, published materials, and photographs. The records deal primarily with the areas of University administration in which Barss was involved, including the Senate, the Inter-Fraternity Council, the Department of University Extension, the building of Brock Hall, and campus development and maintenance. Also included are some administrative records of the Department of Horticulture.

The photographs are described and stored separately.

Series consists of records documenting the establishment of the UBC-Okanagan Learning Exchange and includes correspondence, reports, budgets, and written notes. Files are arranged in chronological order.

UFFI Action Association

Series consists of the records Miki’s involvement as a member of the UFFI (Urea Formaldehyde Foam Insulation) Action Association and includes correspondence, budgets, copies of completed application forms for the Canadian Home Insulation Program, handwriting notes, photographs, minutes of meetings, contact information for members, and association by-laws.

Undergraduate and Graduate Education series

This series consists of laboratory diaries, research notes, and class notes created when Harrison was in his undergraduate and graduate years. Harrison’s Ph.D. Thesis entitled “Studies in Catalytic Parahydrogen Conversions,” is included in this series.

Union activities

Series consists of correspondence, minutes, union cards and ephemera from Johnson’s period as an elected representative for the ILWU. Includes items related to the 1934 woodworkers strike which was successful in achieving significant wage and benefits gains for ILWU members.

Union Government

Series consists of letters, telegrams and memorandums pertaining to the establishment of the Union Government in Canada in 1917. This includes correspondence primarily between Robert L. Borden and other Canadian politicians, both federal and provincial.

Union records

The series contains records pertaining to the activities of the International Woodworkers’ of America (IWA), IWA-Canada, IWA local chapters, the Lumber Workers Industrial Union, the Federation of the Woodworking Industry, and the Woodworkers Industrial Union of Canada.
Union activities fall into several categories: executive and administrative functions including elections, financial administration, audits, hearings of members in relation to their association with the Communist party, as well as organizing and bargaining efforts including negotiations, strikes, and conferences.

Record types represented in the series include the following: union constitutions and by-laws, minutes of meetings, correspondence, contracts and master agreements, reports, newsletters, bulletins, news-clippings, and convention and conference proceedings.

Union/Management

Series consists of minutes, memorandums, and hand-written notes relating to negotiations between the union and Imperial Oil Ltd., as well as records of union/management meetings covering a variety of topics, including grievances. Also contains Collective Agreements for 1981 and 1983.

United Nations series

Series consists of materials documenting Marsh's interest in the United Nations and its agencies and materials related to his work for the Vancouver "Habitat" conference in 1976 and includes clippings, conference proceedings, correspondence, and notes.

Universities Council of British Columbia (UCBC) series

The series is a collection of records primarily from Michael Shaw's time as vice-president, with a portion being from AB Gellatly (Vice President of Administrative Services), and as such reflect the responsibilities of the Vice President Academic and Provost complimented by some financial records. The series consists of four sub-series; Committees (minutes, correspondence, notes and accompanying material from various UCBC committees); Office Records – UCBC (subject files grouped loosely by year, consisting of correspondence, agendas, grant information and memoranda, documenting UCBC activities 1985-1987); Curriculum (proposals, correspondence, and development plans for new degree programs at Simon Fraser University and the University of Victoria, documenting how new degrees and programs were conceived and approved of through UCBC); Interior Universities Program (an adjunct to the Universities Council of British Columbia, the Board was responsible for making recommendations regarding the funding and extent of University Programs to be offered in Interior communities – it was succeeded by the Open Learning Institute in 1978 – consists of budget estimates, correspondence from committee members, memos, agendas, and related records documenting the financial development and changing scope of Interior Programs).

Universities series

This series includes correspondence, notes, research, newspaper clippings, pamphlets, invitations, publications, memos and illustrations relating to universities that W.C.Gibson attended and was employed by, including McGill University, University of British Columbia, University of Victoria, and Oxford University.

Universities, Organizations, and Associations series

Series consists of materials which document Marchak's academic appointments and administrative duties. Also included are records of her reviews of educational programs at different institutions, including Brandon University, Memorial University of Newfoundland, and Australian National University. In addition, the series consists of correspondence, reports, written notes, and clippings. It is arranged in the following sub-series: Peter Wall Institute, Dean of Arts UBC, Appointments Various Personal, Societies Miscellaneous, Journals, Professional Societies, & Presses, Universities General, and University Programs Reviews.

University Affairs series

Series consists of reports, correspondence, and minutes of meetings about Miller's involvement with various University committees.

University Affairs series

Series consists of records documenting Belshaw's administrative and teaching activities at the University, including departmental, senate committee and Faculty Association activities. The materials include correspondence, reports, minutes, financial records, course outlines, and clippings.

University Departments series

Series consists of correspondence and memoranda about various University faculties, divisions, deans, and programs with which the School of Music has a relationship. Series is arranged in alphabetical order.

University of British Columbia

Series contains course and lecture notes from Thomas’s teaching career as a professor of English. There are subject files on individual authors and subjects, correspondence from students and other materials related Thomas’s activities at UBC. The series also contains records related to committees that Thomas served on, including the Faculty Association, Academic Women’s Association and Sexual Harassment Policy Committee, which Thomas served as a mediator for from 1989-1993. (Sensitive material related to third parties has been deaccessioned.)

University of British Columbia President’s Ad Hoc Committee on British Columbia Native Indian People and Communities

Series consists of two files, one related to business of the Ad Hoc Committee on British Columbia Native Indian People and Communities, appointed by University of British Columbia President George Pederson in 1983 and co-chaired by Thomas Berger and Verna Kirkness, including correspondence, minutes, reports and associated material, and a second file of material assembled for reference related to the establishment of an institute of native studies at the University.
