Notebooks

Series consists of notebooks kept by Doyle containing fisheries statistics, figures, and other types of information. Includes notebooks containing information on the operations of the Skeena River Commercial Company, and the Namu, Mill Bay, Kimsquit, Kumeon, Port Essington and Port Edward, Bella Coola, Tallheo canneries. Series also includes notes on the British Columbia Packers Association, 1903-1908, and general journals kept by Doyle, 1905 to 1922, containing information on his business dealings and other cannery-related issues. Notebooks

Series consists of notebooks not associated with any particular work by Lowry and Margerie, organized chronologically and by location. Both Lowry and Margerie kept notebooks, mostly palm sized and bound with staples, which they filled with thoughts and ideas, some of which developed into poems and manuscripts. Contents include bound notebooks, loose pages, and typewritten fragments of notes.

The series consists of notebooks and notes related to Nakayama’s church and missionary work, as well as his personal life. The notebooks contain lecture and conference notes on religious studies and other topics; theological reflections and notes related to Nakayama’s ministry / church duties, including notes on sermons and services, lists of parishioner / catechumen names for baptism and confirmation, lists of church wardens, offerings lists, and lists of departed parishioners; travel details and expenditures; names and addresses; biographical notes; financial notes; and general notes. Notebooks also contain laid in photographs; newspaper clippings; correspondence from family, friends, and parishioners; and ephemera. Materials in the series are in Japanese and English.

Series consists of notebooks filled with drawings, diagrams, and written notes. These volumes and the information included in them arguably constitute the documentary core of Geoffrey Smedley’s work. They are organized into three sub-series. Numbered Notebooks consists of 35 sequentially-numbered volumes, dated 1964-1988, with notes and drawings on various topics and projects. “Descartes’ Clown” Notebooks consists of 12 volumes, sequentially numbered in Roman numerals, documenting Smedley’s Descartes’ Clown project. Other Notebooks brings together the remainder of Smedley’s notebooks covering various topics and projects.
Where the volumes are numbered, they are arranged sequentially; otherwise, they are arranged in chronological order based on dated notebook entries.

Series consists of Aberle's handwritten field notes and journals, as well as printed transcriptions of those notes and journals. Most of the notes and journals are from Aberle's work with the Navajo; some include work pursued in Mongolia and his work on the Athapaskans.

This series consists of handwritten notes and materials related to Stephen's research for her short stories, books (including a book about Alberta), and radio reporting. There are several files containing research on First Nations of B.C., as well as newspaper and magazine clippings. Series consists of notes from Lowry, written on small note cards and scrap paper. Lowry wrote notes to Margerie frequently between 1939 and 1953. The cards often contain love notes to Margerie as well as scraps of poems, small sketches, thoughts, observations, and fragments of what would later become poems.

Nova Dance Theatre

Series contains records pertaining to the development of the Nova Dance Theatre in Halifax, NS. Material relates to Jeanne Robinson's role at the director and creator of the theatre and includes correspondence, Canada Council grant applications, programing information and publicity.

Nova Scotia University Grants Committee series

In 1962, Nova Scotia Premier Robert Stanfield invited MacKenzie to inaugurate and chair the Nova Scotia University Grants Committee. The Committee was to advise the Nova Scotia government about facilities, standards and financing for the ten degree-granting institutions in the province.
The series consists of correspondence, working papers and printed material divided into two sections. The first section (boxes 184 to 190) includes material from 1971. The second was constructed from unorganized miscellaneous materials of MacKenzie's later years. The period covered is approximately 1968-1974, with some overlap with the material in the first section. Material in section two is arranged chronologically, correspondence arranged alphabetically, followed by working papers in chronological order. MacKenzie's many years as member and chairman of the N.S.U.G. Committee are represented, as are the general operations of the Committee.

Series consists of various drafts of the novel. The drafts are maintained in the order in which they were previously arranged.

The series consists of handwritten and typed drafts and manuscripts of McWhirter's novels. The material is arranged into published and unpublished material. In addition, the accrual in 2020 contains "Too Tall for You," an annotated synopsis of a current project.

Series consists of records related to McNeil’s novels. It contains drafts, correspondence with McNeil’s editors, publishers, publicists, as well as contracts with the same. It also consists of general conferences and reading programs that she attended or participated in.

Nunavut (NTI) files

Series consists of correspondence, reports, clippings and published materials, personnel records, contracts, memos, and other documents related to Berger's role as conciliator regarding the meaning and implementation of the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement of 1993. The dispute, between Nunavut Tungavik Inc. and the Government of Nunavut on the one hand and the Government of Canada on the other, related to employment and education and the extent of Canada's commitments in that connection. His 2006 report, <em>The Nunavut Project</em>, proposed far-reaching changes in the languages of education and of the workplace.

Nurse Midwifery Service series

Series consists of correspondence, minutes, policy documents, reports, clippings, and other textual materials relating to the Nurse-Midwifery Service, a midwifery program that operates out of Grace Hospital. Series consists of two sub-series: Administrative Records and Committees.

Nursing Division of the Alumni Association of the University of British Columbia

The Alumni Association was formed to develop and foster a feeling of fellowship among alumni, encourage and support educational opportunities, to facilitate closer liaison between the faculty and students, and provide financial and other support for School of Nursing faculty and students.

Series consists of records documenting the activities of the Alumni Association.

Series contains correspondence, letters of acceptance, enrolment lists, diplomas, and transcripts, relating to Slaughter’s education towards a diploma from the Nursing Program of Vancouver General Hospital in 1932 and a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Nursing from the University of British Columbia in 1933.

Series consists of records related to Emery's service as a Nurse, particularly during World War Two through St. John's Ambulance service. Record types include identification cards, certificates, correspondence, and photographs, including a detailed photograph album documenting Emery's time serving overseas from 1944 to 1945.

Series consists of objects belonging or given to Thomas Crosby including a hymnal book and an engraved wax seal stamp.

Objects and sound recording

Materials in this series consist of three-dimensional objects from the Klondike gold rush period, the Klondike gold rush centennial, and a sound recording, ranging in date from 1896 to 1997. Some objects in this series originated from businesses and individuals honouring and commemorating the lasting impact of the Klondike gold rush, whereas others were created during the gold rush as tools of trade. Major record types in this series include coins and tokens, but also included are playing cards, textile materials, and a puzzle.

Ocean Weather Station "Papa" series

Series consists of research notes, charts, data, drafts of papers, finished papers and correspondence related to gathered data. Most of which is handwritten but occasionally typewritten.

Office Administration series

Series consists of correspondence, budgets, mailing lists, job descriptions, policies and drafts relating to the administrative activities of Community Relations. Series also includes surveys regarding publications and public relations and speeches, publications and clippings. Two subseries: General and Budget Information.

Office correspondence

Series consists of correspondence between the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and E. Tilford Fenton of Local 213 union, documenting Local 213 union’s involvement in the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, which primarily includes Fenton’s participation in conducting the proceedings of the Executive Board by mail votes and considering requests of local and U.S. unions for financial assistance. Series is arranged into two files: correspondence to E.T. Fenton 1912; correspondence to E.T. Fenton 1913.
