Writing Series

This series includes notes and copies, both original and photocopy, of the various publications of W.C. Gibson. Also included are copies of the published writings.

Published Material series

Series consists of a variety of publications in which Bullock’s work appears and publications containing artists of interest to Bullock. In addition, there are publications related to both the creative writing and translation fields.

Miscellaneous series

Series consists of notes, articles, foreign language text, and other material that is mainly unidentified and personal items such as passports.

Vancouver, BC, and Out-of-province Building Files series

The series consists of files about buildings the firm built or altered in Vancouver, elsewhere in British Columbia, and outside the province. Some of the files deal with contracts that the firm did not win. The records include original architectural drawings; photographs; and related correspondence, reports, journals, minutes of committee meetings, forms of tender, quotations, agreements, specifications, certificates of insurance, and hardware schedules. The records are arranged into sub-series based on the project files and grouped under subject headings chosen by the architectural firm: Communication, Transportation & Public Utilities; Religious and Funerary; Exhibitions & Spectacles; Residences; Professional; Mercantile; Social & Recreational; Schools; Administrative & Financial; Universities - Canada (excepting the University of British Columbia); Community & Regional; Hotels & Cafes; Government; Industrial. This original order of categorization has been maintained. Some files on projects can be found under two categories, particularly Social & Recreational and Community & Regional. The projects are arranged alphabetically and then in chronological order within these subject headings. For some projects, Thompson, Berwick and Pratt created a publicity file, which has been put at the beginning of the files on the particular projects.

Committees series

Series consists of correspondence, membership lists, and programmes. In addition, the series contains six subseries: Clubrooms, Interest Groups, Membership, Programme, Social, and Student Affairs subseries.

Scrapbooks series

Series consists of 6 scrapbooks containing newspaper clippings, minutes of meetings, newsletters, correspondence, photographs, and certificates about the Faculty Women's Club.

Teaching Notes series

The series contains extensive subject files relating to courses taught by Upton throughout his career. The series also includes material on teaching-related activities, such as files on hiring sessional lecturers, the lecture series: "Four Images of Canada," and a UBC Correspondence Course and Inter- disciplinary Workshop.

Correspondence series

Series consists of correspondence on various subject matter, including Upton's books on William Smith and Micmacs and Colonists and proposed book of essays on W.H. Siebert. Numerous correspondence is also interfiled with other series as well.

Miscellaneous series

Series consists of documents, including those related to the Anglican Church at UBC, various voluntary organizations, international aid pamphlets, conferences, and other miscellaneous documentation of importance to Conway.

Periodicals series

Series consists of assorted bulletins and newsletters. Series is arranged in alphabetical order.

Military series

Series consists of commonplace books, minutes, certificates, pamphlets, brochures, clippings, programs, notes, and a handbook about Logan's interest in and involvement with the Military. Also included are a button from the 72nd Seaforth Highlanders and an identification bracelet from the 4th Battalion Canadian Machine Gun Corps, Logan's World War I units.

UBC series

Series consists of correspondence, minutes, programs, publications, pamphlets, manuscripts, and notes about Logan's involvement with the University of British Columbia. Series contains three subseries: Correspondence, Miscellaneous, and Printed Material subseries.

Psi Upsilon series

Series consists of correspondence, minutes of meetings, pamphlets, clippings, programs, financial materials, reports, and the text of speeches about Harry Logan's involvement with Psi Upsilon. Series contains six sub-series: Correspondence, Periodicals, Addresses of Members, Printed Materials, Financial Documents, and Literary Productions subseries.

Personal Material series

Series consists of a CV, the text of speeches, medical records, calendars, financial materials, newsletters, minutes, awards, reports, notes, and correspondence about Detwiller's activities. Series also includes coursework materials about Detwiller's hospital management degree.

Correspondence series

Series consists of incoming and outgoing correspondence generated and received by Detwiller about his personal and professional activities. Series contains two subseries: General and Personal.

UBC series

The series consists of newsletters, agreements, correspondence, and statements about the UBC Campus and various health care associations on campus.

Committees - Faculty Association series

Series includes agendas, minutes, correspondence, reports, briefs, documents actions taken, recommendations, and decisions made of all committees and sub-committees of the Faculty Association. Records are arranged alphabetically by the name of the committee. Files are arranged in alphabetical order by committee name. Reports of many committees are also filed with the minutes of annual general meetings in the Meetings - General and Special sub-series.

Administrative Records series

Series consists of minutes of meetings, a directory, correspondence, reports, and photographs about the administration of the Summer Session Association. Series contains two subseries: minutes and executive records subseries.

Subject Files series

Series consists of reports and correspondence relating to specific events and organizations with which the Alumni Association was involved. The series also includes the minutes of Annual Meetings from 1953-66. Series arranged in alphabetical order.

Board of Management series

Series consists of minutes of meetings, reports, correspondence, and resolutions relating to the Alumni Association's Board of Management from 1951 to 1965.

American Alumni Council series

Series consists of correspondence and notes about American Alumni Council conferences, including District VIII conferences held in British Columbia. In addition, the series includes materials about an Alumni Administrative Award given to the University of British Columbia in 1966.

Manuscripts series

Series consists of various manuscripts written by Thomson. In addition, the series contains six subseries: Books, Articles, Radio Talks, Speeches, Dissertations, and Diaries.

Notebooks series

Series consists of a notebook containing quotations and notebooks about adult education in Saskatchewan, poverty and war.

Books by Watson Thomson series

Series consists of two books written by Thomson: Pioneers in Community: Henri Lasserre's Contribution to the Fully Cooperative Society and Turning into Tomorrow.

Academic & Non-Governmental Organizations series

Series consists of records documenting Belshaw's activities with various national and international academic and non-governmental organizations. Series is divided into sub-series covering major agencies and projects. Materials include minutes, reports, correspondence, financial records, pamphlets, publications, clippings, and notes.

Subject Files series

Series consists of subject files of the Graduate Student Society, including files relating to the implementation of dental plan coverage for graduate students, renovations to the Graduate Student Centre / Thea Koerner House, and University reform.

Correspondence series

Series consists of a 1908 form letter from the Dairy Students' Union in Hants that has autographs on the reverse, a 1912 letter from the Emigration Branch of the Interior Department of the Government of Canada, a short correspondence in 1922 with Florence Luddington in England about Double Cottenham Cheese, and a 22-page report written in 1930 to the manager of the Powell River Company regarding "The Discoloration of Wood Pulp." Series also includes several undated miscellaneous letters, including a letter from a London art valuer company called Law, Foulsham & Cole, that lists china for sale. The letter is accompanied by five black and white photo prints of the numbered items.

"Social Prophecy" series

Series consists of materials for a book project entitled "Social Prophecy: hopes and dooms." Materials include clippings and manuscript notes, organized by chapter or subject area.

Social Security series

Series consists of materials dealing with social security (in Canada and elsewhere) and unemployment. Includes an extract of a statement to the Senate, clippings, notes, and surveys.

Social Work series

Series consists of materials related to social welfare, social changes, the status of women, and health services and includes lecture notes, articles, clippings, photographs and correspondence.

United Nations series

Series consists of materials documenting Marsh's interest in the United Nations and its agencies and materials related to his work for the Vancouver "Habitat" conference in 1976 and includes clippings, conference proceedings, correspondence, and notes.
