The fonds consists of corporate records, a research collection of Seaboard historical material used in the preparation of a corporate history, John A. Humbird's journals of his overseas trips for Seaboard (1937-1945) and photographs of Seaboard personnel, delegations, ships, ports, logging operations, and sawmills.

The fonds consists of records related to the Service, Office, and Retail Workers Union of Canada’s (SORWUC’s) local chapters 2 and 4 administrative activities, organizing endeavours and legal proceedings. Although the records are primarily related to the United Bank Works (UBW), local 2, and Bank and Finance Workers Union, local 4, many records are related to SORWUC’s national activities as a trade union. These activities include organization and certification of new bargaining units, filing unfair labour practices on behalf of union members, pamphleting and raising funds for the union as a whole, organizing strikes, and fighting court battles for the right to organize in new sectors, such as the banks. Additionally, SORWUC kept various reference materials on topics related to feminism and the rights of laborers. The fonds reflect these different organizational activities in three series: Legal, Organizing, and Administration.

The Legal series consists of records related to the union’s legal activities. These records include Unfair Labour Practice (ULP) charges filed against banks and heard by the Canadian Labour Relations Board (CLRB), applications for certification in the CLRB, notes, correspondence, news clippings, and legal briefs.

The Organizing series consists of material relating to the organizing activities of SORWUC, including correspondence, research, membership forms, sign-up sheets and information relating to bank branches seeking certification. Also included are contract proposals, organizing committee papers by branch, and minutes of negotiation meetings, press clippings and press releases.

The Administration series relates to the various administrative activities of SORWUC locals 2 and 4; including financial activities, research for court cases, as well as related issues to the union such as unemployment and racism; public relations documents including press releases; and minutes of meetings.

This collection consists of materials related to early British Columbia history in the years when BC was still a British colony, prior to joining Canada in 1871. The collection consists of colonial government documents (proclamations, messages, acts, and rules and regulations) effecting the daily life of British Columbians. These include real estate titles, road works, railways, local, legal and financial matters, labour, and infrastructure. The collection includes proclamations by James Douglas, who was the first governor of BC and served from 1858-1864.

The Thomas K. Fleming research collection consists of materials related to the settler colonial history of British Columbia, and more broadly, the Pacific Northwest and Canada. Record types include correspondence, newsletters, press clippings, printed materials, notes, maps, legal documents, as well as Fleming`s stamp collection and associated records. Historical records in the collection include content primarily from the nineteenth to early twentieth century on such subjects as forestry, travel, commerce, and postal history. Uno Langmann Family Collection of B.C. Photographs

The Uno Langmann Family Collection of B.C. Photographs, donated by Uno and Dianne Langmann and Uno Langmann Limited, consists of more than 20,000 rare and unique early photographs from the 1850s to the 1970s. It is considered the premiere private collection of early provincial photos, and an important illustrated history of early photographic methods. The photographs were taken by a wide range of photographers. Some well-known photographers represented in the collection include William Notman, Charles MacMunn, Frederick Dally, Charles Horetzky, Charles Gentile, Philip Timms, Yucho Chow, R. Maynard, and Leonard Frank.

The collection reflects the forestry operations and projects undertaken by Western Forest Products and their predecessors. The majority of the material dates to the 1980s, with some material dating to as early as the 1950s and as late as the early 2000s. Much of the contents relates to MacMillan Bloedel Limited, in particular their tree farm licenses (TFLs), silvicultural practices, and some corporate information.

Tree farm license records include: project reports, working and management plans, and maps. Silviculture records include: growth and yield reports, environmental reports, literature, and summaries of silvicultural projects. Corporate records include meeting agendas and minutes, publications, and microfiche.

There are three main types of material in the collection: textual records, maps, and microfiche. The initial acquisition also included aerial photographs which have subsequently been transferred to the UBC Geographic Information Centre.

The fonds also includes one photograph of the vessel Frieda of the Kakiak Fishing Co.

The fonds consists of business records of the Yorkshire Guarantee & Securities, Limited, The Yorkshire and Canadian Trust, Limited and The Yorkshire & Pacific Securities, Limited, Huddersfield, England concerning its B.C. operations. The records consist of those created at Head Office, Huddersfield, in its dealings with its Vancouver and Victoria offices. There are also books of account which appear to have been created in its Vancouver office. The records consist of legal documents (1889-1950) minutes (1906-1950) correspondence (1890-1964) and financial records (1889-1970), including registers, journals and ledgers (1889-1954). There are also records of the Canadian Mining Syndicate and the Vancouver Land & Securities Corporation. The fonds also includes photographs of the exterior of the Thos. Dunn and Company store, depicting goods ready for shipment from Vancouver to the Klondike and interiors and exteriors of the Yorkshire Building in the 1950s.

The collection consists of ledgers, account books, and sales receipts of merchants in Dawson City, Yukon, during the Klondike Gold Rush as well as correspondence, purchasing records, and production records for several placer mining companies in and around Dawson City in the 1940s and 1950s. The records of Klondike-era merchants include those of Marcus Rosenthal and Company, Barrett and Hull (1901-1904), William Barrett, Klondike Thawing Machinery Company (1911-1926), Landhal's Emporium (1906), and Rook Brothers (1905-1906). Records of placer mining companies include those of Clear Creek Placers Ltd. (1941-1956), Yukon Gold Placers Ltd. and subsidiary companies (1941-1956), Canadian Placers Ltd. (1940-1941), and Spruce Creek Placers Ltd. (1941-1956).
