Lemuel Robertson sous-fonds

Robertson would have met Geoffrey Riddehough while studying English and History at the Fairview campus. Riddehough wrote to Robertson seeking academic and professional advice. Robertson was also responsible for establishing the Classics Club, of which Riddehough was a member, which was maintained until the early 1990s. Sous-fonds consists of Riddehough's correspondence to Robertson during the years he studied overseas in London and Paris.

Lampman Report series

Series consists of materials about the Lampman report. In 1931, Judge Peter Lampman was appointed by the Provincial Government at the request of the Board of Governors to investigate the governance of the University. Significant funding cuts to the University and the response of President Klinck created a conflict amongst various bodies on campus. Lampman's report suggested that there were perhaps too many governing bodies dealing with similar matters on campus. The resulting report lead to changes in the membership of the Senate and Board.

Notes series

The series consists of handwritten and typed notes and excerpts generated by Johns, including speeches, lectures, and research.

Faculty Committee on Student Affairs series

The series consists of the records of the Student Affairs Committee. It was one of several committees established at the first meeting of the Faculty of UBC in 1915. The others included Library, Graduate Work, Course and Calendar, Students' Standing and Admissions, Military Education, and Academic Costume. The Faculty Committee on Student Affairs was responsible for making recommendations to the Board of Governors on all matters relating to students. In serving as a medium for communication between the staff and the student body, the committee had to approve minutes and constitutional changes for all student organizations on campus, including the Alma Mater Society. The series includes minutes of the committee, student council, and other student organizations.

Canadian National Railways series

Series consists of materials collected while Fournier was writing his book Railway Nationalization in Canada: The Problem of the Canadian National Railways and includes correspondence, drafts of chapters, book reviews, book orders, receipts, invoices, statements of sale and a carbon copy version of the book itself. Also included is a 5-part series of newspaper articles entitled The Railways Problem in Canada.

Photographs series

The series consists of 37 photographs, most of which were created after Eastman's career at UBC.

Portrait images of Eastman are included in UBC Archives Historical Photograph Database as UBC 30.1. Images depicting events, and other individuals (UBC 31.2) are not digitized but are available to view in our reading room.

Scholarships and Bursaries series

The series consists of records related to scholarships and bursaries allocated to students. Records contain information about the names of scholarship recipients, the amount of the award, specific scholarship programs, and related correspondence. The series also includes the minutes and correspondence of the Committee on Scholarships and Prizes.

UBC Administrative series

Series consists of records of Moe's administrative responsibilities at UBC, including the Department of Agronomy, UBC Senate, and the Senate Library Committee, and includes correspondence, minutes of meetings, reports, memoranda, notes, and drafts of resolutions.

Early University Records series

The series consists of correspondence (1890-1920) generated both before and during UBC's first two presidents, Frank Wesbrook and Leonard Klinck. The correspondence that predates the appointment of UBC's first President Wesbrook deals with various issues, including membership in Convocation, appointments to the Board of Governors, hiring a President and selection of a site for the University. Correspondence generated during the presidencies of Wesbrook and Klinck provides information about the University's establishment, the hiring of staff, strictures placed on the University during World War I, attempts to move the University to its eventual Point Grey campus and many other matters. Arranged chronologically by year and then alphabetically. The series also includes subject files (1904-1936), divided into pre- and post-1915 and arranged alphabetically.
