Records pertaining to his sister’s death show the painstaking detail the family took in providing a meaningful burial for her. The UBC ephemera provides a glimpse into Laurence’s social life at UBC. The music and theatre programs show his interest in the arts from a young age. The photographs provide valuable information on who his family was, what Laurence liked to do, and the activities in which he participated. His diary, letters received by him, and a list containing the translation of various words and phrases of the language of the Kwakwaka'wakw First Nation provide insight into who he was as a person.

The fonds consists of Ricou's correspondence during his teaching careers at the University of Lethbridge and UBC. The fonds also includes records relating to his involvement with the Association of Canadian University Teachers of English (ACUTE), book reviews, negotiated grants, Literary History of Canada, Canada research fellowships and a summer course taught on the writings of Malcolm Lowry. Fonds consists of textual and audiovisual material relating to the production of the movie "Manufacturing Consent: Noam Chomsky and the Media", released in 1992, and the companion book by Mark Achbar published in 1994. The filmmakers chose to capture
the majority of their work on film, rather than video, for several reasons. Firstly, during the 1980’s, video resolution was significantly lower than film negative and in an effort to ensure the image resolution was high film was chosen as the predominant medium.
As well, the NFB (National Film Board) was equipped primarily for film shooting, processing and editing. Finally, the motivation to participate in film festivals, which wanted film rather than video, compelled the filmmakers to use film as their medium. Some small format video, captured using rented broadcast quality video gear, was used for long talks or events which would have been uneconomical to shoot in film. The audiovisual material includes original camera negatives, audio and video tapes and sound bites used as research material and in the making of the film as well as some post-production rough cuts, alternative versions and promotional material relating to the distribution of the film and subsequent video. The textual material includes pre and post-production materials as well as production logs and graphical materials. Much of the post-production material relates to the promotion of the film and the media coverage of the film and of Noam Chomsky.

The fonds consists of correspondence, drafts, essays, lecture notes, course outlines, clippings and research materials created and collected by Ormsby in her diverse roles as student, professor, researcher and author. Also included are records generated between 1957 and 1967 by the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada.

The fonds consists of photocopied research material relating the following individuals - Clifford Sifton, George Foster, Robert Borden, R.B. Bennett, W.S. Fielding, T.A. Crerar, A.K. Cameron and Charles A. Dunning. Also included are minutes, agenda papers and reports from the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada on which Prang served from 1973 to 1979.

The collection consists of correspondence, financial materials, minutes, reports, plays, clippings, scrapbooks, notes, brochures, and photographs pertaining to various dramatic organizations with which Rushton was involved. These organizations include Vancouver Little Theatre Association, Vancouver Children's Theatre, Vancouver Community Children's Theatre, Holiday Theatre, Holiday Playhouse and Playhouse Theatre. Rushton collected this material for the purpose of writing a history of the Holiday Theatre and to document the children's theatre movement in British Columbia. Also included is an audio recording of an interview conducted by Rushton.

There are also materials from Morehart’s personal life, including artwork, which consists primarily of several canvas boards and other flat materials, and personal correspondence. The fonds consists of a variety of materials, but the focus is the creative writing of Bullock, in many genres. Represented in collections are prose and poetry, both published and unpublished, along with hundreds of individual works, covering not only poetry and prose poems, but academic essays, autobiographical accounts, and plays, as well as a prodigious amount of notes. The fonds also contains material relating to Bullocks work as a translator and includes a variety of genres translated into English from the original French, German, or Italian. The fonds also includes correspondence of both a professional and personal nature. The correspondence from 1935 illustrates the business life of a professional writer; it also contains a wealth of personal correspondence that helps solidify Bullock's stature as a writer both locally and internationally. Impressive figures such as Marcel Bealu, Max Frisch, and Joy Kogawa are intermingled with less well-known artists, friends, and family in the correspondence, and provide valuable commentary, over nearly 70 years, into the creative path chosen by Bullock.

Ames assembled this group of records through his participation on the C.S.A.A. team, which studied the situation. The papers also include Ames's descriptions of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Museums Association (1980-1983) and the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute (1967-1995). The material relating to the Shastri Institute includes records generated or collected by Ames and other members of the Institute at UBC. The names of other members are indicated in the file title. Also, the fonds contains manuscripts and drafts, records about Ames's research, courses taught by Ames, a variety of conferences and seminars, and records about Ames’ participation in several museum studies program reviews. Finally, the fonds also contain Ames' involvement with the Museum of Anthropology (MOA). Most records as Director and Acting Director of MOA are held at the MOA Archives. The correspondence and clippings were gathered during Cottingham's term as president of the BCTeachers Federation, and material relating to women's issues (1952-1963).

The fonds consists of 44 separate archival series most of which are based on specific production titles. For each title there is a digital master copy of the program(s). Each production includes a set of video and audio elements, the bulk of which are original shoot tapes. In addition there is also corresponding textual material that helps provide context and background for the development of the various projects. The textual and a/v materials have been described in separate sections of the inventory. For both sets of material the numbers assigned during the original cataloguing and creation of the database have been retained and appear in square brackets [ ] as part of the descriptions to allow for cross referencing as necessary.
First donation: This donation is Paperny Film's first to an archival repository and it represents 27 of the company's indigenous proprietary titles (1996-2004) of their approximately 55 non-fiction productions (1996-2007). The collection is comprehensive in that it offers digital master copies of each of the title/series included in this donation. There are 62 original masters that include over 50 hours of recordings. There is also a DVD copy of each of the master tapes to provide easy access to the information.
The collection features over 1900 a/v elements arising from some 27 separate productions. The scope of material includes: BetacamSP, MiniDV, Digial Betacam, DVD, VHS, CDs and digital audio tapes. The majority of the collection consists of original shoot tapes. There are over 1,000 hours of video recordings featuring prominent Canadian including Mortecai Richler, Henry Morgentaler, Jimmy Pattison, and Nancy Green.
In addition to the obvious importance of providing access to full interview interviews with and about prominent Canadians, the a/v elements are also quite instructive in helping communicate an understanding of the creative process that gave rise to particular productions.
The textual material extents to approximately 5.15 metres and also includes over 13,000 photographic images. The images document the various production shoots and, in some cases, include copies of historical photographs/documents that were used in the productions.
Examples of the types of records included with the textual material include: treatments, outlines, synopses, proposals; collected research materials; correspondence relating to development, production, publicity; original interview notes and transcripts, interview schedules; scripts (and drafts), storyboards; production schedules, production reports and daily call sheets; publicity stills, negatives, transparencies and digital photographs; marketing plans, publicity packages, one-sheets, press releases and coverage; transcripts of completed shows; EDL's (edited decision list), assembly notes, tape logs; credit rolls, final credits and super lists.
Of particular interest in the textual material are a set of handwritten notebooks created by David Paperny, Audrey Mehler and others. Seventeen in total, these notebooks are in Box 1 (3,4,5,6,11,12,13,14,15); Box 4 (3,8); Box 6 (17); Box 11 (23a); and Box 12 (8).
Second donation: The second donation from Paperny Film's represents 15 of the productions (1993-2006) including the Academy Award nominated The Broadcast Tapes of Dr. Peter. The collection offers digital master copies of each of the title/series included in this donation. There are 183 original masters and a DVD copy of each to provide easy access to the
information.
The collection features over 1200 AV elements arising from 15 separate productions, some of which have several seasons associated with them. The scope of material includes: BetacamSP, MiniDV, Digital Betacam, DVC Pro, DVCAM, Betacam SX, DVD, VHS, CDs and digital audio tapes. The majority of the collection consists of original shoot tapes.
There are roughly 75 cm of textual material in the newest accession.

Fonds consists of textual records which document Dr. Marchak's scholarship and related professional and administrative activities, and includes correspondence, reports, typescripts of speeches and articles, written notes, contracts, journal off-prints, course materials, conference packages, and newspaper and magazine clippings.

The collection is an assemblage of movie memorabilia (predominantly Noir and Western), 20cm x 25cm film-stills, 28 cm x 36 cm lobby cards, and ephemera amassed by Thompson as a part of her research for her books Hard-Boiled and Tall in the Saddle. Additionally, there are Science Fiction stills and posters, Spanish-language lobby cards, 36cm x 91cm insert posters, and miscellaneous stills from other 20th-century cinema.

The fonds consists of minutes from the Departments of Asian Studies (1968-1992) and History (1964-1992) as well as committee material and other records generated by these two units (1962-1992). In addition, Harnetty has provided several detailed lists which serve as abstracts for much of the material. The fonds also includes copies of speeches by Harnetty between 1961 and 1966, course material from 1985 to 1992, and other ephemera.

The collection comprises records acquired by Peter Moogk about aspects of British Columbia’s history, including the British Columbia Electric Railway Company’s interurban train lines (predominantly from 1909-1958), and photographic representations of persons (especially white settlers, from 1870-1960), places, events and activities in the province.

The collection includes six series: British Columbia Electric Railway Company Records, Portraits of Persons in British Columbia, Photos of places, streets, and architecture in British Columbia, Photos of events and activities in British Columbia, British Columbia ephemera and Records from British Columbia Penitentiary.

Records relating to the first series, British Columbia Electric Railway Company Records, include: photographs; postcards; original BCER documents, such as union agreements and timetables; BCER employee publications; transit tokens; signs and posters from within Vancouver streetcars; and a copy of a CJOR radio script.

Records relating to the second series, Portraits of Persons in British Columbia, include: photographs and handwritten notes by Moogk about Vancouver photographers operating from 1858-1920.

The focus of the third series, Photos of places, streets, and architecture in British Columbia, is photographs of structures and places of British Columbia, notably building exteriors and interiors, and street views from 1880-1959.

The fourth series, Photos of events and activities in British Columbia, includes photos of notable events and public activities (predominantly dating 1911-1941), as well as everyday life, and also includes handwritten and photocopied information on the provenance of the photos and activities depicted.

The fifth series, British Columbia ephemera, is mostly paper ephemera representing the variety of business and activity in the province from 1890 to 1990, and includes menus, theatre programs, business correspondence, and Chinese textbooks as well as some photographic materials.

The sixth series, Records from British Columbia Penitentiary, includes textual records and photographs relating to the British Columbia penitentiary.

In addition, the fonds includes route sheets and correspondence produced during the selection of submissions for inclusion in the Journal. The bulk of this material is arranged chronologically by volume and issue number. Also included are financial statements and correspondence relating to the marketing and production of the Journal and records from Prism International Press. Fonds organized into four series: Administrative/financial records series (1957-1994), Prism International volume-issue series (1958-1995), Prism International Press (1966-1971), and Correspondence (1964-1984).

Fonds consists of records documenting the programs and activities of the Radio Society / CiTR (including DISCORDER), including textual records and sound recordings of a variety of programs, radio plays, campus events, public service announcements, photographs of the radio studio and from different events, and advertisements produced by the Radio Society for broadcast on its station (CYVR/CiTR) or affiliated radio stations. In addition, the fonds includes recordings of interviews conducted on behalf of the Alma Mater society relating to its art collection. Fonds also consists of materials related to the administration of the radio station including information about licensing, executive meetings, policies, job descriptions, and staff training.

The correspondence series contains thousands of letters from prominent literary figures such as Earle Birney, Robert Finch, Desmond Pacey, Northrop Frye, Herbert Davis, E.K. Brown, A.S.P. Woodhouse, as well as writers, poets, and artists such as Paul Hiebert (Sara Binks), Carol Coates, Max Maynard, Jack Shadbolt and others. His works are represented by manuscripts of his poetry, fiction, drama, scholarly work on Milton and modernism and Canadian literature, speeches and broadcasts, autobiography, diaries, and many letters to his family. The fonds also contains notes of sympathy received by Daniells' family after his death.
