Files include his time as the Legal Director for the Community Legal Assistance Society (a non-profit storefront law office located in Vancouver's east side that's generally believed to be the first community law office in the province) and participation with the Legal Services Commission and Consumer Action League, which also championed community and low-income access to legal support.

Records related to Waddell's involvement with the Alcohol and Drug Commission, which worked provincially to propose policies for regulation and treatment, and the Family Law Commission (specifically, a working group looking into a unified family court) are the majority of this series.

As Minister of Small Business, Tourism, and Culture, Waddell was heavily involved in the bid process for the 2010 Olympics. Olympic records focus mostly on the bid process, from applying for the Canadian bid to winning the 2010 Olympic bid. Some post-bidding materials are also included, such as Waddell's personal ephemera from attending the 2010 Winter Olympics. Committee strategies and planning documents, correspondence, research and reports, meetings and agendas are among the records, as well as press releases and press clippings about the Olympic bid.

As a Member of BC Legislature, Waddell chaired the inquiry into treaty negotiations and the Nisga'a Agreement-in-Principle. These records are located in the Select Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs series.

Series consists of original graphic scores, conductor's score, working templates, notes, art prints, and photographs related to the work ‘slippages’ by Montréal based composer and interdisciplinary artist Deborah Carruthers. In 2017, Carruthers served as the inaugural Artist in Residence at the Peter Wall Institute for Advanced Studies, University of British Columbia (UBC). Deborah teamed up with science researchers at the institution as well as the UBC School of Music to find a way to creatively combine sound, science, and visual art for the purpose of increasing public awareness of the climate crisis. Carruthers conducted field work for the project in the Columbia Icefield along the border of British Columbia and Alberta. Inspired by the threatened glacial landscape, Carruthers returned to her Montréal studio and completed a series of paintings, 27 of which were selected and arranged to produce a graphic score. Graphic scores use visual symbols to represent music rather than traditional music notation. Because of their emphasis on the visual, graphic scores are frequently considered works of art in and of themselves. Moving from sight to sound is accomplished through the creation of a geography of the orchestra on a sheet of transparent plastic which is then used to map over Carruthers’ art works and determine which instruments take responsibility for which parts of the images. ‘Slippages’ premiered Friday, October 5th, 2018, at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts with the UBC Symphony Orchestra under the baton of the symphony’s Director, Dr. Jonathan Girard. Project documentation includes a notebook holding hand-written texts revealing assimilation of glacial theory, inspirational preliminary sketches, and unique inserts; an audio/video recording of the premier; and a copy of a video component to be shown above the orchestra as it performs the work.

Series consists of final scores, edited scores, notes, and a musical program related to Dorothy Chang’s composition Gateways: Double Concerto for Erhu and Piano. Gateways was commissioned by Nicole Ge Li and Corey Hamm of the Piano-Erhu Project (PEP). Players of the erhu and piano, respectively, they began PEP as a means of exploring the tonal, musical, and cultural blends between two iconic Eastern and Western instruments. For her addition to PEP’s mission, Chang reflected on how she might address the issue of ‘east meets west,’ especially given the solo instruments’ highly distinct and disparate sonic characteristics, performance practices, and musical traditions. Gradually, the piece evolved as a patchwork of musical fragments, moments, and memories gathered from her own multicultural experiences as a first-generation Chinese American, a Western expatriate living in Taiwan, and now an immigrant to Canada. Woven into the three movements are references to a 90’s Chinese pop song, a children’s rhyme, opulent Romanticism, American minimalism, and other influences both subtle and not. The title refers to a Tang Dynasty poem that depicts a gateway as both an opportunity and a barrier, reflecting a deep yearning for a faraway time, place, or memory. The work premiered April 14, 2018 at the VSO Annex Theatre; Ge Li and Hamm served as soloists; William Rowson conducted members of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.

Series consists of textual records, photographs, artifacts, and correspondence related to the monitoring of problematic anti-choice groups and individuals as well as Pro-CAN’s development of safety initiatives. During its operation, Pro-CAN maintained files on possible threats as well as common anti-choice behaviors and tactics. Many of the behavioral files focus on anti-choice violence in Canada and abroad.

This series contains culturally, historically, and/or politically significant non-commercial publications primarily focused on specific events or topics. Contents includes pamphlets, photographs, calendars, posters, catalogues, forms, and tickets. Events documented include performing arts concerts, Korean Language School (Vancouver) records and photographs, rallies and committee meetings about the Japan Fingerprinting Law, and Korean Society of Vancouver membership forms, among others.

This series includes Waddell's work on the international scene, spanning his legal and political career. Most notably, the series features the early stages of advocacy for the International Criminal Court, through Waddell's involvement in the Canadian arm of Parliamentarians for Global Action (previously known as Parliamentarians for World Order). Contents include newsletters, press, correspondence, reports, agendas and itineraries, travel information, invitations, and research. Contents cover group memberships, travel and meetings, and subject files on international subjects.

Series is divided into two sub-series: Magazines featuring Lansdowne’s artwork and Newspaper and magazine clippings. Records include copies of magazines in which Lansdowne’s artwork is featured, along with newspaper and magazine clippings featuring articles about Lansdowne’s life and career. The series consists of trade licenses, and records military service for Roy Thomas.

The series contains textual records pertaining to the Klondike Gold Rush. The records reflect major activities such as commerce, travel, mining, and tourism in the Klondike. Legal records documenting the mining boom, including mining claims, grants, stock certificates, and court documents are present throughout the series. Records of individual miners and mining companies are included in the series as well as those of prevalent government bodies, including the office of the Gold Commissioner and the Department of the Interior. In addition to these activities, the series also reflects various works of individuals who journeyed north to the Klondike during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, as well as promotional and informational material developed by travel and outfitting agencies. The series also contains records related to the Lind family’s personal connection to the Yukon, including the unpublished account of John G. Lind’s trip to the Klondike.

Series consists of materials related to den Hertog’s 1984 and 1988 campaigns to win election as a Federal Member of Parliament in the riding of Vancouver-Centre. Although defeated both times, she lost the 1988 campaign by a narrow margin. The series also contains materials related to the 1989 Provincial by-election for Vancouver-Point Grey, where she put her name forward for the NDP party nomination, but was unsuccessful. The series is divided into three sub-series: Vancouver Centre 1984, Vancouver Centre 1988 and Vancouver-Point Grey.

Series reflects Mary Bishop’s volunteer service and membership in the various organizations she was connected with. The series is arranged into four sub-series according to the organizations in which she took part: International Planned Parenthood Foundation (IPPF); Planned Parenthood Federation of Canada (PPFC); Planned Parenthood Association of British Columbia (PPABC); and other volunteering and organizational membership.

Records contained within this series include organizational records of these various groups (such as meeting minutes, reports, financial records, and correspondence), as well as newspaper clippings, marketing and communication materials, brochures, and pamphlets.

The series consists of research, correspondence, and notes relating to Arctic Exploration and Arctic Literature dating from 1973 to 1976.

Series consists of letters written to Cotsworth, personal notes (mostly written on envelopes and scraps of paper), drafts of printed material that may have been used in his publications, and miscellaneous articles written by other individuals. All of the records deal with calendar reform, but the personal notes reflect the wide range of Cotsworth's interest in this matter . They include notes taken on his travels to Stonehenge, Egypt, Northern British Columbia, and Alaska. The personal notes also include descriptions, even lists, of photographs taken on his trips. The articles written by other individuals deal with calendars and religious topics.

Series consists of two folders containing newspaper clippings. The first folder contains loose clippings of articles from newspapers and journals. They deal with a diverse array of topics, most notably Stonehenge, telling or measuring time, and calendars and calendar reform. The second folder is a bound volume of newspaper clippings taken from a variety of sources covering the time period of August 4 to November 3, 1931, done by Editorial Services Ltd. on behalf of the International Fixed Calendar League. These clippings are mostly about calendar reform and the activities of the League.

Series consists of hand drawn and machine produced statistical charts and graphs. The main areas of everyday life that Cotsworth analysed were: business, schools, production, customs and duties, hotels, post office, retail stores, and railways. He used these statistical analyses to show that there would be fewer inconsistencies in the data if the months were made up of four weeks/twenty-eight days. The series also consists of charts and diagrams/maps (of Canada) showing values for mean rainfall.

Series contains material collected by Cheney about Canadian art and artists other than Emily Carr. It also contains records relating to her medical drawings and the publication of her letters with Humphrey Toms and Emily Carr. Series includes clippings, bulletins, brochures relating to art exhibitions in Vancouver, photographs, letters, memorabilia, drawings, and gallery catalogues.

The photographs, negatives, and slides (the slides are duplicate images of the photos, with one or two exceptions) BC1849/1-86 are primarily images of Emily Carr and her artwork.

The slides BC1849/90-158 are primarily informal images taken by Cheney of her numerous Canadian artist friends, as well as slides portraying various U.B.C. dignitaries and other well-known Canadians. These date from 1951-1969 and include a section (numbered BC1849/149(a-f)-158) that is devoted to Dr.’s Ethel and Wallace Wilson.

Photographs numbered BC1849/159-200 are mainly photographs of Nan Cheney’s many friends and acquaintances, as well as photographs of art work, including her own. Also there is a series of photographs which record a sculpture show at U.B.C. in 1956 (BC1849/196a-1).

Series contains records produced by the Regional District Review Committee's efforts to seek briefs from interested parties and to hold public hearings at various locations throughout the province of British Columbia. Series is divided into three files: briefs, public hearings, and correspondence.
Briefs consists of submissions by individuals, associations, and other public or private bodies, stating opinions, issues, and recommendations relating to the regional district governance model.
Public hearings contains the transcripts of public hearings held throughout the province as well as documents related to these hearings.
Correspondence consists of communications between the Committee and Districts, collections of correspondence and records regarding specific issues, and expressions of the opinions and recommendations of members of the public.

Series contains reference materials supporting the Regional District Review Committee’s Mandate to examine the functions and roles of the Regional Districts. Files consist of maps, reports, press clippings, background materials to the Greater Vancouver Regional District’s submission to the RDRC, and a selection of acts and bills.

The Greater Vancouver Regional District’s background materials includes information related to budget, services, staff and board members, and proposal to deal with future growth and to develop a light rail transit system.
The selection of acts and bills include acts of the Province of British Columbia pertinent to the regional district system of governance, proceedings in the legislative assembly of the Province of British Columbia, environmental regulations of Alberta, and the municipality of metropolitan Toronto act.

This series contains records relating to the Women in Focus Society’s efforts to produce and distribute feminist video and film. Production records include: meeting minutes, documents, and information relating to the production committee; subject files relating to various individual productions; and publicity for WIF productions, including pamphlets, leaflets, and newspaper and magazine clippings of advertisements and reviews.

Distribution records include: monthly and yearly distribution statistics; Women in Focus film catalogues, catalogue updates, and inventory lists; shipping records; and distribution correspondences. Distribution records also contain research and information about films that Women in Focus sought to distribute, including: newspaper clippings of reviews; catalogues of other organizations; artist profiles including producers and directors; distribution questionnaires; and correspondences with feminist film distributors from other countries.

Series documents YWCA Metro Vancouver’s social and community service programs. Among the YWCA’s service focus areas are: affordable housing provided by the YWCA Hotel/Residence, Housing Registry, YWCA housing communities, and short-term and transitional houses; counselling; daycare and early learning; and employment guidance. Although available to members, these services are targeted at individuals, groups, and families identified by the YWCA as vulnerable and facing systemic social and economic barriers. The YWCA has geared its services towards: disabled individuals and their families, homeless youth, immigrant women, single mothers, survivors of violence and/or abuse, and teenage mothers, among others. Activities represented include: setting up and planning particular services; managing, running, and evaluating those services; and communicating with current and potential clients about services offered.

Records consist of reports, studies, meeting minutes, memoranda, correspondence, publications, and other material arising from the YWCA’s planning, evaluation, and management of its social and community services.

This series contains materials relating to the production of Kinesis and the activities of the Vancouver Status of Women.

Records in this series are from the production room of Kinesis and predominantly reflect the production cycle of the magazine and its records organization system for photographic and graphic materials that were used in or collected for future use in the magazine.

This is seen, for example, in the files that are labeled [Kinesis Photobank], which represent materials that were collected by the editors and filed alphabetically by subject so that they could be retrieved for relevant future articles that required use of visual media.

In addition to these subject-oriented files, this series also contains a significant collection of photographs, negatives, and contact sheets that depict events that were assigned to photographers for Kinesis articles. Documented events include International Women's Day (various years), Single Mom's Day in the Park (various years), Vancouver Pride (various years), Take Back the Night (various years), Women Rally for Action 1976, and the World March of Women 2000. There are also photos from international conferences such as the XI International AIDS Conference, which was held in Vancouver in 1996, and the World Summit for Social Development, which was held in Copenhagen in 1995. While the events captured in these materials took place across the existence of Kinesis (from 1974-2001), a large bulk of the photos are from the 1990s. In addition to materials that were produced by individuals on the Kinesis masthead for the journal, there are also photographs, cartoons, and press releases that were sent to the editors for their consideration or at their request.

Other materials within this series include photographs and ephemera that relate to the production of Kinesis and the activities of VSW--such as writer training retreat materials; photographs of events such as VSW's annual 'Recommending Women' event as well as candids from the office; commemorative materials that were produced during significant anniversary years such as postcards printed for the 20th anniversary of the magazine; and posters and signage that used to hang in the production office.

While the series is predominantly graphic materials, there is a small amount of textual materials that relate to the administrative needs of the magazine and its production.

Series consists of materials related to Herring's consulting work in Alaska and with Alaskan companies, and to his ongoing interest in the state's forestry industry. Included in this series are materials related to the Alaska Pulp Corporation (APC) v. United States case, and updates on various APC projects and interests in which he was involved while he was employed with them. Many background and reference materials are also included, as well as annual reports from companies like Klukwan, Goldbelt, and Sealaska. Materials include reports, clippings and published materials, handwritten notes, correspondence, memos, meeting minutes, business cards, maps, conference proceedings, and more.

Series consists of film reels and videotapes showing footage of Herring's travels, both work-related and personal. Most of these trips were in and around British Columbia and Alaska, but also include Scotland, Australia, Tasmania, Tahiti, and other locations within North America. Subject matter includes Herring's hunting and fishing trips, Highland games, scenic views, wildlife, and scenes of logging, helicopter logging, forestry equipment, and mills.

Series consists of files assembled for speaking engagements and speeches as well as speaking tours undertaken or planned by Thomas Berger from 1977 to 1994, arranged by the records’ creator in four subseries corresponding to four periods: 1977-1984, 19851986, 1987-1989, and 1990-1994. Files within each subseries are arranged alphabetically by event, place, or host of the speaking engagement. The files include texts and drafts of speeches, notes, articles prepared for publication, conference agendas and related material, and also correspondence, press clippings of events, and material assembled for reference in writing speeches.

This series consist of an assortment of records relating to the vast number of issues that concern the FVOA or directly relate to its operations. The Subjects include; the environment, fishing and vessels, spawning, fueling needs, membership, patrols, First Nations, Transport Canada policies and procedures, correspondence to and from the UFAWU, and correspondence to and from the FVOA management with numerous relevant individuals,
groups, associations, and governmental bodies. The folders are arranged by date.

Series consists of records relating to Fraser’s daily planning activities (notes, written self-reminders, etc) and other daily activities such as shopping, eating and dunking. Included are general lists, lists of food and clothing items, grocery lists, membership cards to dubs and societies, and a daily calendar.

Series consists primarily of photocopied materials, as well as correspondence, handwritten notes, published materials, and other documents related to Stacey's research and curatorial work for various displays and exhibits, primarily for the Canadian Museum of Civilization. Stacey's own collection of industrial and outdoor clothing is also documented, as it overlapped with his research interests and curation on behalf of museums.
