The fonds consists of records reflecting the myriad of activities under the President's Office. Records relating to the university's founding in its earliest days include records of the early days of Medicine at UBC. Records relating to Indigenous Peoples include the teacher training program and "Native Indian Students at UBC." Documents related to faculties and departments, including Applied Sciences, Arts, Commerce, Forestry, Graduate Studies, VP Finance, Administrative Services, VP Faculty and Student Affairs, Dean of Women, Agricultural Sciences, Dentistry, Education, Law, Medicine, and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Also present are records related to Women at UBC, - including reports on the Status of Academic and Non-Academic Women - Senate Committees and the Board of Governors. Personnel records related to employees, salaries, agreements with Provincial and Territorial Governments and affiliated organizations with UBC, finances, the many UBC committees, advisory groups and records associated with the founding of UBC institutes, foundations, centres and the Faculty Club. Records also relate to teacher evaluations, student discipline, budgets, appointments, new programs, legal opinion, and grant and scholarship awards. Subject files include the Downtown Eastside and the President's Task Force to renew sports services. The fonds consists of notes, manuscripts, drafts, galleys, and correspondence relating to McWhirter's published and unpublished novels, short stories, poetry, and radio plays. It also includes biographical and autobiographical information, non-fiction manuscripts, book reviews, material regarding McWhirter's editorship of "Words from Inside", translation records, teaching material, records relating to his time as Head of the Creative Writing Department and other personal and professional correspondence.

Fonds consists of personal and professional materials of Ward’s related to his career. The fonds is divided into four series: Project series (1980-2020); Publications and Conferences (1966-2009); Teaching and Research Materials (1992-2003), and Correspondence series (1978-2001).

The fonds consists of biographical material (1993-2012), copies of Thornton's thesis (1967) and dissertation (1971), copies of his papers (published and unpublished), books, reports and reprints, as well as audio/visual material.
Included in the biographical material is a self-published autobiography, entitled "Telling My Life Story - ... a journey of discovery".

The fonds consists of records relating to the teaching, research and supervision work of Edmond Granirer. The records in this fonds include published math articles, correspondence with colleagues and organizations, lecture notes and presentations on Algebra given around the world. There are also records of his early career in the US and student evaluations of his classes. Also in the fonds are newspaper clippings, reports, programs and photographs. The records have been divided into four series Career Records, Published Papers, Lectures and Conferences, and Correspondence.

Fonds documents several of Eva-Marie Kröller’s academic projects: her biography of British Columbia author George Bowering, Bright Circles of Colours (Talonbooks, 1992); essays on Roy Kiyooka and Emily Carr; her book Canadian Travellers in Europe, 1851-1900 (UBC Press, 1987); materials relating to her book Writing the Empire: The McIlwraiths, 1853-1948 (2021); an article entitled “Une femme bien en vue”: Adrienne Clarkson and the Media (2014); and an anthology of travel literature that she and historian Pierre Savard were planning, but which was not completed before Savard’s death in 1998 in addition to other various research materials. Also included are documents related to a workshop organized by SATE (Swiss Association of Teachers in English), and correspondence with Canadian authors. The materials consist of textual records (correspondence, notes, drafts, and readers’ reports), published materials, and a 3.5” computer floppy disk containing a digital manuscript of Bright Circles of Colours.

The records consist of correspondence, architectural plans, research grant proposals, research reviews, CVs, and videotapes of colloquia and other PWIAS events, and numerous other records relating to the mission and programs of the Peter Wall Institute for Advanced Studies.

The fonds consists of records which document William New's publications, lectures, and other activities between 1947 and 2018. Most of the series are based on published works written or edited by New. The remaining records relate to other projects, prizes, awards, papers, conferences, correspondence, or professional interests. Collectively, these records reflect New's various roles as professor, public speaker, editor, author, and poet.

The fonds consists of papers, reports, printed material, essays and photographs created and acquired by Parminter in the course of his time as a student, professor and regional inspector, as well as some personal items. The fonds is divided into three series: Regional Inspector of Indian Schools, University of British Columbia and Research/Miscellaneous Material. The fonds had no discernable original order associated with them and so the archivist decided to arrange them by series.

The fonds consists of two series: Photographic and Audiovisual. The photographs were created by Information Services and Community Relations and were transferred to the University Archives by the Public Affairs Office. The photographs are 35 mm negative format and digital-born photos on optical discs. The images document a wide variety of important people, events and activities at the University of British Columbia between 1980 and 1991.

The video and audio recordings ([1966?]-2008) are of events on campus both at UBC Vancouver and Okanagan, including the announcement of the Okanagan campus. The material includes copies of media clips, promotional videos, speeches, the visit of dignitaries such as the Dalai Lama and stock footage. The audiovisual formats include VHS, DVD, Umatic, Betacam sp and unknown optical disc formats. Sound recordings are made up of cassette tapes and compact disc digital audio (CD-DA).

Most of the materials in the original accession were created by Information Services and Community Relations, the predecessor agencies of Public Affairs.

Fonds consists of nine pages of handwritten excerpts from Eileen Keel’s diary covering the school years 1938/39 and 1939/40, and one page of photocopied prints depicting the UBC campus during this period and Keel’s graduation.
