The collection consists of materials relating to the Committee on Continuing and Community Education activities in British Columbia (the Faris Committee), collected and maintained by Committee member Gordon Selman. It includes copies of briefs submitted to the Committee, correspondence, reports, and other documents relevant to the Committee's investigations. The collection is arranged in three series: briefs, letters, and miscellaneous.

The fonds consists of records documenting Juda Quastelʹs activities as a scientist from 1917 to 1987. Series include biographical information; correspondence; presentations and lectures; scientific research, notes, and data; written reports, published and unpublished materials; photographs, slides, glass plates, and audiovisual material. Collectively, these records reflect Quastelʹs various scientific roles as researcher, professor, author, and public speaker. Some records (i.e. particular correspondence and photographs) also reveal Quastelʹs personal life as husband and father.

Fonds consists of reports, memos, evaluations, agendas, outlines, minutes, information and correspondence relating primarily to the Adult Education program at the University of British Columbia. An accrual in Box 7 consists of files relating to the period when the adult education program restructured to become the Department of Administrative, Adult and Higher Education. The most recent accrual documents a joint programme between UBC and Fundacao Instituto de Radiodifusao Educativa da Bahia in Brazil.

Fonds consists of textual records, and includes written notes and typed transcripts from interviews conducted by William Willmott and two research assistants. Interviews were conducted with Jack Yee and Seto Yingshek, and with relatives and friends of H.Y. Louie. Also included is related correspondence, a membership register of a small Chinese association (written in Chinese), and a small notebook (contents written in Chinese).

Fonds consists almost entirely of materials created or acquired by Harry Adaskin throughout his life and career.
