The majority of these studies are bound together in a volume presented to the Royal College by Gaudin.

The fonds includes records from the Cooperative Committee Towards a School of Rehabilitation Medicine (1956-1961), Hood's notes on course and curriculum development (1961-1963), correspondence (1962-1973), and printed material relating to occupational therapy and rehabilitation medicine.

The fonds consists of minutes, correspondence, and reports pertaining to the Committee on Gerontology from 1973 to 1979. The material primarily chronicles the efforts of the committee to secure a Centre for Gerontological Research at UBC.

Dr. Ford dedicated her medical career to helping those in need, including traveling to Nepal, Dominica, and Bangladesh all while managing her own medical practice in Burnaby. She has served in various capacities on numerous boards and professional organizations including the Federation of Medical Women of Canada, Save the Children, the Sir Edmund Hillary Foundation, and the Trans-Himalayan Aid Society. She has received numerous awards and recognitions in her lifetime, but for her dedication to the global health community, she was appointed as an officer in the Order of Canada. Her personal interests included her family, Canadian history, and nature.

Previously known as the "Ethel Johns Research Collection", the fonds consists of records generated during Street's writing of the biography of Ethel Johns. It includes correspondence (1969-1974) with publishers and the Canada Council which funded the project; transcripts of interviews with students, friends and associates (1969-1970); copies of Johns' addresses and publications (including portions of an unfinished autobiography); and draft manuscripts for the book "Watch-Fires on the Mountains".

Thomas also kept subject files and correspondence related to her activism that included material from several organizations, or from none. These records have been grouped into series based on the subject, including the Vietnam War series, the Women and Peace series, the Human Rights series, the Feminism Subject Files series, the Anti-nuclear war subject file series and the Labour Activities subject file series.

The fonds consists of Ujjal Dosanjh’s private records from 1977 to 2015, comprising of all aspects of Donsanjh’s life in Canada. A prominent portion relates to his lifelong advocacy of Indo-Canadian issues. Particular matters addressed include Sikh extremism, the Khalistan movement, the bombing of Air India flight 182, and the Komagata Maru incident. Many records of a long political career, split between the provincial level; as a BC MLA, attorney general, and premier; and the federal level in the roles Minister of Health and a member of parliament; document the years between 1979 to 2011. These records are wide ranging and diverse in terms of their topics and functions. An extensive collection of scrapbooks contains contemporary media reaction related to Dosanjh's political and community work.

Fonds reflects a portion of Walker Gill Wylie’s career in gynecology and hospital management. Contents include manuscripts of reports, lectures, and papers produced by Wylie. There are also several periodicals from various professional associations that he was associated with. There is also a letter regarding the provenance of the fonds after Wylie’s death.

Fonds consists of Emery's photographs, correspondence, newspaper clippings, identification cards and ephemera. The records document Emery's service as a nurse during World-War Two, as well as her experiences of World-War One, and her life and career as a nurse in Vancouver and New Brunswick.

Hanne's collection provides a window into the early 20th century physical culture movement; the experience of Jewish Europeans in the lead-up to, during, and after World War II; and the landscapes of British Columbia between the 1940s and 1970s. In addition to Hanne's extensive collection of letters, postcards, personal and official records, and assorted odds and ends (e.g. household receipts, business cards, recipes, etc.), the fonds also contains the records of her husband, George Dickson Walker.

Under Johns' guidance, the five-year plan established the B.Sc. in Nursing. The fonds also include biographical information and records relating to Flanagan's various awards, including an honorary doctorate from McGill University (1977).

Fonds consists of 20 lab notebooks (1966-1970) containing notes from Caroline Astell’s Ph.D. studies. The notebooks include the results of her studies with Michael Smith in the area of oligonucleotides beginning about May 1968.

Fonds consists of documentation of the “Racism: Breaking the Silence” workshops, organized by the UBC Multicultural Liaison Office and its Director, Dr. Joan Anderson. Included are recommendations arising from the first workshop (March 1993), President Strangway’s keynote address at the second workshop (June 1993) and Dr. Anderson’s response.

The fonds consists of records which primarily document Sharon Kahn’s activities as Director of Employment Equity (1989-94) and Associate Vice-President, Equity (1994-2005). The records include correspondence, reports, minutes, clippings, and other published materials. They are arranged in two series: the Equity Office series, which documents in a general sense UBC’s Equity Office and Kahn’s activities as its head; and the Equity Cases series, which documents two high-profile cases with which Kahn and the Equity Office were involved.

Fonds consists of the John Howard Society of British Columbia, Nanaimo Area Council’s records of the Mid-Island Diversion Programme. Founded in 1975, the Mid-Island Diversion Programme formulated its aims and operations upon John Hogarth’s Sentencing as a Human Process (1971) and the Law Reform Commission of Canada’s Working Paper No. 7 on diversion (1975). The programme was founded with the following objectives: providing a community-based diversion program as an alternative to the criminal justice system for individuals who committed minor offenses; shifting the responsibility of addressing such offenses from the government to the community; modifying the attitude of the public towards these offenders and towards the criminal justice system; and working towards the decriminalization of certain minor offenses. The programme was overseen by the Nanaimo Area Council Diversion Programme Support Committee with representatives from the Crown Counsel, RCMP, probation officers, John Howard Society members, and interested community members. Within its first few years, the programme expanded from Nanaimo to also include communities in Cowichan, Duncan, Ladysmith, and Parksville. The programme seems to have continued until around 2019, at which point the John Howard Society, Nanaimo Area Council directed its resources towards other restorative justice efforts.

The programme was designed for adult offenders with no more than two prior convictions who had been accused of the following types of offenses, among others: theft under $200, possession of stolen property under $200, assault, causing a disturbance, possession of marijuana, willful damage, and possession of a prohibited weapon. Adults accused of other types of offenses could be accepted or rejected from the programme based on their previous criminal record, social background, and community presence. Acceptance into the programme required a referral from the Crown Counsel, approval from the RCMP investigating officer and victim, and voluntary participation on the part of the alleged offender. Participation in the programme required the alleged offender’s stated intention to take responsibility for their actions, but did not count as a legal admission of guilt. After acceptance into the programme, the client would formulate a diversion plan with a diversion counsellor. The diversion plan generally required the client to complete the following tasks over a three-month period: community work at a non-profit organization; a letter of appreciation to the RCMP Investigating Officer for referral to the programme; a letter of apology to the victim; if relevant, paid restitution for damages; and meetings with a diversion counsellor weekly or every other week. Upon the programme’s completion, the diversion counsellor submitted a final report to inform the Crown, RCMP, and victim.

The fonds consists of medical claim files collected between 1939 and 1974 for Consolidated Mining and Smelting Company of Canada (CM&S, later known as Cominco) workers in Trail, B.C. Files include claim forms with doctors’ certificates, checks to sick accounts, correspondence between the Society and worker and/or worker’s doctor, medical examination sheets, and other material produced by workers’ participation in the claim process.

Claim forms were submitted by workers every fourteen days during a given benefit period to obtain claim payment. These forms generally record dates from which the employee was absent and was expected to return to work, a doctor’s diagnosis and certification of the worker’s claim, and, if relevant, details of the sickness or accident inciting medical attention. Some files include a full medical examination sheet, which was required for a worker’s acceptance as a Society member. Although not included in every file, correspondence was produced when the Society assessed the validity of a claim and/or extended benefits, doctors attested to an employee’s fitness (or lack of) to return to work, and workers checked on the progress of their claims.
