Fonds consists of records that document Kevin Chong’s education, and writing and teaching careers. The records include typewritten manuscripts, written notes, annotated proofs, correspondence, research materials, teaching materials, newspaper and magazine clippings, publications, posters, photographs, and digital recordings. The fonds consists of records and ephemera pertaining to John Laurence Russell Meredith and his family from 1863 to 1990. Records and ephemera pertaining to his father’s life are of genealogical interest as they provide insight into who he was. Records pertaining to his sister’s death show the painstaking detail the family took in providing a meaningful burial for her. The UBC ephemera provides a glimpse into Laurence’s social life at UBC. The music and theatre programs show his interest in the arts from a young age. The photographs provide valuable information on who his family was, what Laurence liked to do, and the activities in which he participated. His diary, letters received by him, and a list containing the translation of various words and phrases of the language of the Kwakwaka'wakw First Nation provide insight into who he was as a person.

Fonds consists of records that document the UBC Learning Exchange history and includes correspondence, reports, minutes, budgets and related financial records, written notes, published items, and audiovisual materials. It is arranged in six series: Administration, UBC-Okanagan, Chapman Awards, Programmes, Community Service Learning and Community Based Research, and Audiovisual.

Fonds consists of textual and audiovisual material relating to the production of the movie "Manufacturing Consent: Noam Chomsky and the Media", released in 1992, and the companion book by Mark Achbar published in 1994. The filmmakers chose to capture
the majority of their work on film, rather than video, for several reasons. Firstly, during the 1980’s, video resolution was significantly lower than film negative and in an effort to ensure the image resolution was high film was chosen as the predominant medium.
As well, the NFB (National Film Board) was equipped primarily for film shooting, processing and editing. Finally, the motivation to participate in film festivals, which wanted film rather than video, compelled the filmmakers to use film as their medium. Some small format video, captured using rented broadcast quality video gear, was used for long talks or events which would have been uneconomical to shoot in film. The audiovisual material includes original camera negatives, audio and video tapes and sound bites used as research material and in the making of the film as well as some post-production rough cuts, alternative versions and promotional material relating to the distribution of the film and subsequent video. The textual material includes pre and post-production materials as well as production logs and graphical materials. Much of the post-production material relates to the promotion of the film and the media coverage of the film and of Noam Chomsky.

Fonds consists of textual material related to the teaching and academic work of Morehart at UBC, as well as personal research and publications. There are also materials from Morehart’s personal life, including artwork, which consists primarily of several canvas boards and other flat materials, and personal correspondence. Materials include handwritten notes, printed documents, publications, photocopies of publications and articles, original artwork, journals, and the contents of several binders. Folder names are primarily taken from original folders. There are eight series: Artwork, Correspondence, Miscellaneous, Personal, Photographs, Research Materials/Articles, Sceattas Research Materials and Writings, and Teaching/Lecture Materials.

Fonds includes materials related to Steinberg’s work as at the University of British Columbia, some early work from his own university days, and materials pertaining to his work with the local Jewish community. Includes correspondence, research materials, drafts, manuscripts, and other materials.

Fonds consists of a scrapbook created by Muriel Grant, with newspaper and magazine clippings and event programmes attached to the pages.

Fonds consists of 20 cm of textual material, bound and unbound, and five photographs. They are organized by subject and document Harlow’s tenure as UBC’s University Librarian.

The collection is an assemblage of movie memorabilia (predominantly Noir and Western), 20cm x 25cm film-stills, 28 cm x 36 cm lobby cards, and ephemera amassed by Thompson as a part of her research for her books Hard-Boiled and Tall in the Saddle. Collection consists primarily of event flyers, programmes and calendars published to promote various performing arts productions at UBC. Also included are companion guides for some theatre productions. Materials are arranged in three categories: Theatre Productions, Musical Productions, and Performing Arts – General. Within each category the materials are organized by department, organization, or production series.

The collection of video tapes consists of three categories: raw footage of UBC events/activities primarily from the 1990s; footage shot by UBC film students for a documentary on the Fraser Canyon region; and a series of interviews with a veteran of the Spanish Civil War. Most recordings are in Betacam format, the remainder are VHS.

Fonds consists of personal and professional materials of Ward’s related to his career. The fonds is divided into four series: Project series (1980-2020); Publications and Conferences (1966-2009); Teaching and Research Materials (1992-2003), and Correspondence series (1978-2001).

Throughout his education and political careers, the records were generated by William Bruneau and relate both to personal and professional interests.

The fonds consists of records about Dr. Breen’s precedent-setting suit against Hancock House Publishing and Edwin Gould for copyright infringement of his doctoral thesis. These documents include court filings, notes, and rulings related to the lawsuit. The fonds also consist of records and materials related to the Asian-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) protests of 1997, including Dr. Breen’s involvement, with both formal and informal documentation and complaints filed with the commission.

Fonds consists of the handwritten manuscript for George Bulhak’s book U.B.C. Panorama, published in 1945. Included are photographs and sketches by Bulhak intended for inclusion in the book and U.B.C. President N.A.M. MacKenzie’s handwritten “Foreword.” The manuscript was written in what was originally a bound ledger – isolated ledger entries can be found on the otherwise blank back pages, indicating that it may have been left as surplus at Burhak’s place of employment when he used it for his manuscript.

Fonds consists mainly of correspondence between Ellen Jaffe and Jane Rule, written between 1996 and 2001. The first series follows a letter Jaffe wrote to Rule in appreciation of the TVO film Fiction and Other Truths about her life and work. The rest of the letters deal with Jaffe asking to use quotes from the film in her book Writing Your Way and her visiting Rule on Galiano Island in 2001 to give her a copy of the book. The folder also includes a copy of Jaffe’s book, with the quotes from Jane Rule bookmarked.

The fonds consists of seven incoming letters from Jane Rule to Ann Micou dating from 2003 to 2007. The last letter is dated October 8, 2007, and was written a little over a month before Jane Rule’s death. The fonds also includes four CD’s featuring Jane Rule reading a selection of her short stories including “House,” “A Chair for George,” “Seaweed & Song,” “You Cannot Judge a Pumpkin by the Smile Upon His Face,” “A Migrant’s Christmas,” “If There is No Gate,” “Home Movie,” “Blessed are the Dead,” and “Dulce.” Apparently, the recordings were produced in a small number for distribution to family and friends. The fonds also includes a copy of a videotape entitled Fiction and Other Truths: A Film About Jane Rule (Eds. Lynne Fernie, Aerlyn Weissman).

Fonds consists of documentation of the No Man Is An Island project and includes interview transcripts, correspondence, and consent forms of interviewees, in paper form. Also included is a USB stick containing digital transcripts and audio files from the interviews.
