Fonds consists of materials that document Walter Young's personal life, academic career, and political interests. It includes correspondence, minutes and agendas, reports, lecture notes and other course materials, financial statements, manuscripts, index cards, audio recordings, and publications (including books, newspapers, magazines, journals, pamphlets, and clippings). They are arranged in two series, Personal Papers and Research. Their original order has largely been maintained.

The fonds consists of correspondence (1937-1968), manuscripts and drafts for books and articles, copies of radio talks (1937-1955), speeches (1943-1957), printed material, clippings and two scrapbooks (1937-1965).

Fonds consists of textual records and other materials created or acquired in Samuel Laycock's life and career and includes correspondence, manuscripts, photographs, photograph albums, diaries, course materials, published materials, and personal memorabilia. The fonds consists of research materials gathered by Johnson for his biography of John Jessop (1971), records relating to teacher education in British Columbia (1946- 1970), correspondence concerning the establishment of UBC's Faculty of Education (1955-1956), and a collection of his speeches (1958-1965). In addition, the fonds includes a recording of a broadcast interview with Johnson relating to his study of the life of John Jessup.

The photographs include class portraits from the Mining Short Courses at UBC (1917-1920) and also images of the mining industry from around the province in the early 1920s.

The fonds consists of page proofs for Boggs book entitled The International Trade Balance in Theory and Practice (1922), articles and clippings (1912-1925), and class records (1921-1925).

This includes photographs of electron microscope images and illustrations regarding epithelial and endothelial tri-cellular corner tight junctions. Fonds consists of correspondence, clippings, speeches, minutes, financial records and subject files created by the Chancellor's Office in the process of carrying out of its administrative and ceremonial functions as well as in the Chancellor's role as a member of the Senate. In addition, the fonds includes personal papers created by John M. Buchanan, Allan M. McGavin and Nathan T. Nemetz while holding the position of Chancellor.

Fonds consists of laboratory manuals published by the UBC Department of Physics between 1949 and 1966 (most dated 1957-1962); mimeographed hand-outs for experiments and other assignments; hand-written lecture notes; and a 1944 Canadian Army physics laboratory manual. Many of the manuals are annotated. The manuals are bound, but the notes and hand-outs are loose; all have been placed in acid-free folders. They are arranged by course number, and then chronologically; unnumbered materials, and folders containing unsorted material from various courses, were placed at the end.
Fonds also includes promotional materials, many of which relate specifically to the Department of Physics at university-wide Open Houses, annual reports from the Department of Physics, notes made by Professor John Warren regarding x-rays and particle physics, as well as photographs taken of individuals, groups, and events related to the Department of Physics.

Fonds consists of textual records created in the course of the Department's activities, as well as some published materials describing its programs. Fonds contains committee reports, correspondence, and subject files, as well as published materials describing its programs and correspondence of its faculty members including Michael Futrell, Barbara Hedt, Peter Petro, Ncholas Poppe, Irina Rebrin, Irina Reid and Chris Turner and Bogdan Czaykowski.

The collection consists of publications and brochures accumulated by Graham Drew through his work with the UBC Department of University Extension (later Continuing Education). The collection also includes photographs and slides relating to University Extension short courses.

Fonds consists of textual records generated throughout Dr. Miller's career with the Department of English. They document his involvement in Departmental affairs and include correspondence with students and other faculty; Departmental memos and newsletters, teaching notes; and committee minutes. The records also illustrate some of his interests and activities outside the Department, including the Faculty of Arts Committee on Student Life; President's Committees on University Lectures, and Spiritual Life; the UBC Anglican-United Campus Ministry, and the Co-operative Christian Campus Ministry; the Humanities Association of Canada; and the Association of Canadian University Teachers of English.
The files are arranged in three series, representing Dr. Miller's spheres of activity: Department of English, University Affairs, and Outside Interests. Some files' contents overlap, particularly those dealing with the lecture committees and those labelled "English Department" and "Departmental Records" - however, the files and their contents were retained in their original order.

Fonds consists of several essays and one publication. It includes an annotated copy of a paper written by St. Clair-Sobell, an essay about Leo Tolstoy, a biography of Ornest D. Durnovo with related correspondence, and written remarks by a Soviet commentator on one of St. Clair-Sobell's papers. The publication is a course calendar from Karl-Franzens-Reichsuniversitat (University of Graz, in Austria) for the winter semester 1944/45.

The fonds consists of diaries, photographs, articles, speeches and reports, and miscellaneous material, all of which document Frank F. Wesbrook’s personal and professional activities. Also included are a collection of off-prints of scholarly articles relating to a variety of medical topics that Wesbrook collected or in some cases wrote.

The fonds consists of forty-one interviews with thirty eight colleagues, family, students and friends of Margaret Ormsby. In addition to the 50 cassette tapes there is also general information about the project as well as textual material for each interview consisting of a tape release form signed by the interviewee, a biographical information sheet and a detailed "timed tape guide".

The fonds consists of biographical material (1993-2012), copies of Thornton's thesis (1967) and dissertation (1971), copies of his papers (published and unpublished), books, reports and reprints, as well as audio/visual material.

Most files from the Subject Files series have, on the folders, initials corresponding to either the name of the office where they opened (IAP, BAP, or BPSM) or the name of former director William L. Tetlow (WLT); these initials were retained as part of the file title.

Fonds documents several of Eva-Marie Kröller’s academic projects: her biography of British Columbia author George Bowering, Bright Circles of Colours (Talonbooks, 1992); essays on Roy Kiyooka and Emily Carr; her book Canadian Travellers in Europe, 1851-1900 (UBC Press, 1987); materials relating to her book Writing the Empire: The McIlwraiths, 1853-1948 (2021); an article entitled “Une femme bien en vue”: Adrienne Clarkson and the Media (2014); and an anthology of travel literature that she and historian Pierre Savard were planning, but which was not completed before Savard’s death in 1998 in addition to other various research materials. Also included are documents related to a workshop organized by SATE (Swiss Association of Teachers in English), and correspondence with Canadian authors. The materials consist of textual records (correspondence, notes, drafts, and readers’ reports), published materials, and a 3.5” computer floppy disk containing a digital manuscript of Bright Circles of Colours.

The collection consists of 20 audio recordings one of which is a recording of the UBC 50th anniversary commemorative ceremonies on 1 October 1965, and the others being CBC interviews with prominent alumni and former faculty on 7-8 September 1965.

The fonds consists of correspondence, minutes, reports, student surveys and brochures generated by the Institute of Industrial Relations Co-ordinating Committee between 1973 and 1989.

The fonds consists of miscellaneous files from George Pickard's office (1949-1974), including records from the Canadian Committee on Oceanography (1960-1972). The bulk of the records are composed of departmental files including correspondence, grant material, and financial records. There is also a comprehensive set of oceanographic log sheets containing data collected between 1951 and 1978.

Fonds consists primarily of Parrott's criticism of D.E. Harker's history of St. George's School, Vancouver, entitled Saints. Parrott's notes and letters on the development of the school add a new dimension to the information found in the official history. Many letters contain correspondence to Anne Yandel, the former Head of Special Collections at UBC Library, and George Brandak, the Manuscripts Curator at the UBC Library. Also included in the fonds are documents related to Parrott’s status as a Canadian citizen.

The fonds consists of textual records, photographs, and audiovisual materials, spanning the period 1905-2001, related primarily to Gordon Goichi Nakayama’s career with the Anglican Church of Canada and missionary work, religious and secular research and writing projects (the latter primarily related to Japanese internment and the Japanese Canadian community), as well and his personal and family life and administrative affairs. The fonds is arranged by function and documentary form. Records relating to Nakayama’s religious and secular research and writing projects include manuscript and typescript drafts, as well as final published versions, of religious and biographical / autobiographical works, non-fiction works on the Japanese Canadian / Issei community, and poetry, as well as supporting materials, such as publishers’ contracts and correspondence and research materials.

Records related to Nakayama’s personal and family life and administrative affairs includes incoming and outgoing correspondence; address books and directories; maps; photographs; calligraphy and paintings on shikishi; medical records; travel documents and citizenship records; pension records; records and correspondence related to redress; legal documents; certificates, licenses, and membership cards; property and real estate records; banking and financial records; educational records; biographical information; clippings (many related to Joy Kogawa’s writing career), ephemera, and scrapbooks; notes and notebooks; and other materials.

Audio-visual materials consist of two films on three 16 mm film reels on the subject of World War II and Japanese culture.

The fonds consists of diaries, scrapbooks, and correspondence spanning the period 1910-2003 and related to the professional and personal lives of three generations of the Bamford family—William Blackley Bamford, his son William Blackley Stanley Bamford, and his grandson William Huestis Bamford—as well as to members of the Lasell and Ord families, related by marriage to William Huestis Bamford. Diaries in the fonds include concise “five year” or “line a day” diaries, as well as more detailed daily journals and many cover aspects of the Bamfords’ professional and personal life.

Scrapbooks in the fonds, which contain newspaper clippings, ephemera, correspondence, photographs, notes, and other material, primarily reflect the Bamfords’ personal interests, but also interests their chosen professions and employers, including the Canadian Pacific Railway Company and the Bank of Montreal. Beyond the incoming and outgoing personal and professional correspondence included in the scrapbooks, the Esther Adelina Lasell Bamford series contains incoming correspondence related to a branch of the Ord family living in New Zealand.

The fonds is arranged into four series by family member: William Blackley Bamford; William Blackley Stanley Bamford; William Huestis Bamford; and Esther Adelina Lasell Bamford.

The fonds reflects Philip J. Thomas’ involvement with the folk song community. This includes his research into British Columbian folk songs and his publications on the subject. The fonds also reflects his role as an art teacher, including cards he received from his students and photographs of paintings created by his students. The fonds also contains evidence of his personal life and career, both prior to and during his involvement with the folk song community, and some evidence of his role as a musician, including records related to performances and musical composition.
Material includes articles, music sheets, correspondence, photographs, and a film reel. The first three accruals of the fonds were arranged into three series: Research, Publications, and Folk Song Societies and Festivals. Upon receiving the 2020 accrual, the archivist added the following three series: Music, Art, Personal and Career.
