They are arranged in two series, Personal Papers and Research. Their original order has largely been maintained.

The increase in Club membership parallels the growth and development of the University. The records reflect many of the changes which have taken place over the years. They provide an insight into the concerns and activities of educated women through two world wars and the depression and record some of their contributions to university life.

They include forty-seven letters from Carr, dating from the period 1937-1944 when Humphrey was travelling. The fonds also includes Humphrey's own transcripts and notes on the Carr correspondence; manuscripts written by Carr; copies of works by other authors on Carr; correspondence regarding the publication of the Carr correspondence in the University of Toronto Quarterly; and other Carr memorabilia collected by Humphrey.

Fonds consists of textual records and other materials created or acquired in Samuel Laycock's life and career and includes correspondence, manuscripts, photographs, photograph albums, diaries, course materials, published materials, and personal memorabilia. It is arranged in the following series: Writing, Personal, Correspondence, Subject Files, "The Family Life and Sex Education Information Service" (OTENA series), Educational Research Institute of British Columbia (ERIBC series) Survey, Publications, Photographs, and Memorabilia.

The fonds consists of research materials gathered by Johnson for his biography of John Jessop (1971), records relating to teacher education in British Columbia (1946- 1970), correspondence concerning the establishment of UBC's Faculty of Education (1955-1956), and a collection of his speeches (1958-1965). In addition, the fonds includes a recording of a broadcast interview with Johnson relating to his study of the life of John Jessup.

The Women's Research Centre fonds consists of eleven series. The records deal with various aspects of women's lives and focus on racial, class, and gendered issues such as pay equity, women in the labour force, sexual harassment, immigration and the gendered effects of cultural transition, isolation, women's health and the Tobacco Industry, wife battering, sexual assault, and the strengths and weaknesses of women's shelters, women and the law, political responses to women's situation, and the development of strategies for changing women's lives. In addition, the Women's Research Centre fonds contains administrative records of the organization. Multiple-media records were created and used by the Women's Research Centre in the course of their research such as textual records, canvass banners, publications, maps, newspapers and newspaper clippings. Records created and used by the Women's Research Centre include the Women's Research Centre and BC Women's Studies Association constitution and mission statement, contracts, grant applications, project proposals, various research guides, surveys, statistics, various outlines, budgets, address lists, handwritten and typed notes, correspondence, facsimiles, discussion papers, extensive interdisciplinary manuscripts and abstracts created by members of the BC Women's Studies Association, extensive questionnaires and interview transcripts, drafts, reports, agendas, memos, briefs, meeting minutes, bulletins, press releases, various financial materials such as bills, receipts, expense claim forms, cheque stubs, invoices, and income and expense sheets, workshop registration and evaluation forms, membership application forms, newspapers, pamphlets, brochures, newsletters, articles, books, log books, bibliographies, purchase orders, literature reviews, and maps.

The fonds consists primarily of undated course notes (metal mining, coal and placer mining, mining machinery, and mine surveying); printed material; blueprints; and photographs. The photographs include class portraits from the Mining Short Courses at UBC (1917-1920) and also images of the mining industry from around the province in the early 1920s.

The fonds consists of correspondence with family, friends and with Earle Birney (1952-1994). It also includes articles, notes, photographs, and miscellaneous papers. There is a file folder of correspondence generated by Earle Birney to other correspondents.

The fonds consists of manuscripts of Topping's articles and reports in the fields of sociology and criminology; drafts of his stories and poetry; examples of questionnaires and other material from his research projects; and scrapbooks and other autobiographical materials. The records include manuscripts, correspondence, forms, and clippings and other published materials.

The fonds consists of records of Watter's work on a variety of publications and as editor-in-chief of the Anthology. Fonds includes correspondence with individuals associated with the publication (1956-1958), correspondence with contributors (1957), manuscripts of articles and poems (both accepted and rejected), page proofs, and reviews of the book (1958). Also included is a typed manuscript for the "Checklist of Canadian Literature".

The fonds consists of page proofs for Boggs book entitled The International Trade Balance in Theory and Practice (1922), articles and clippings (1912-1925), and class records (1921-1925).

Fonds consists of departmental records from Anthropology and Sociology (1964-2000); Canadian Sociology and Anthropology Association records (1970-1979); and material relating to the Simon Fraser University dispute concerning the Department of Political Science, Sociology and Anthropology (1969-1971). Ames assembled this group of records through his participation on the C.S.A.A. team, which studied the situation. The papers also include Ames's descriptions of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Museums Association (1980-1983) and the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute (1967-1995). The material relating to the Shastri Institute includes records generated or collected by Ames and other members of the Institute at UBC. The names of other members are indicated in the file title. Also, the fonds contains manuscripts and drafts, records about Ames's research, courses taught by Ames, a variety of conferences and seminars, and records about Ames’ participation in several museum studies program reviews. Finally, the fonds also contain Ames' involvement with the Museum of Anthropology (MOA). Most records as Director and Acting Director of MOA are held at the MOA Archives. The records relate to the teaching of horticulture; the development of the Department of Horticulture, the Faculty of Agriculture, and the University; Barss' involvement with the Anglican Theological College and the Anglican Church; his professional career; and his personal life. Some records were collected and arranged by Barss in the course of writing a history of the Department of Horticulture.
