Fonds consists of published and unpublished works, subject files, correspondence, minutes, reports, sound recordings and a photograph relating to Basil Stuart-Stubbs' position as University Librarian and Director of the School of Librarianship (School of Library, Archival and Information Studies) at UBC, his involvement with the UBC Press, and his academic interests and activities. The fonds consists of information of the 2001 conference held in Cairns’ honour, and articles that colleagues asked that he review before or after publication that include his notes.

Fonds consists mainly of correspondence between Ellen Jaffe and Jane Rule, written between 1996 and 2001. The first series follows a letter Jaffe wrote to Rule in appreciation of the TVO film Fiction and Other Truths about her life and work. The rest of the letters deal with Jaffe asking to use quotes from the film in her book Writing Your Way and her visiting Rule on Galiano Island in 2001 to give her a copy of the book. The folder also includes a copy of Jaffe’s book, with the quotes from Jane Rule bookmarked.

Fonds consists predominantly of copies of Douglas Bankson’s plays, scripts and short stories. It also includes photographs from two Bankson plays and of his artwork, as well as different posters and recordings from miscellaneous Bankson productions.

The fonds consists of Coulthard's incoming family and general correspondence, correspondence from noted English composer Elizabeth Poston, financial records, biographical information, printed material and clippings documenting her involvement in the Canadian and International music communities as an advocate, educator and composer. Also included are original manuscripts of Coulthard's compositions and published and unpublished sound recordings of her work performances. The Women's Research Centre fonds consists of eleven series. The records deal with various aspects of women's lives and focus on racial, class, and gendered issues such as pay equity, women in the labour force, sexual harassment, immigration and the gendered effects of cultural transition, isolation, women's health and the Tobacco Industry, wife battering, sexual assault, and the strengths and weaknesses of women's shelters, women and the law, political responses to women's situation, and the development of strategies for changing women's lives. In addition, the Women's Research Centre fonds contains administrative records of the organization. Multiple-media records were created and used by the Women's Research Centre in the course of their research such as textual records, canvass banners, publications, maps, newspapers and newspaper clippings. Records created and used by the Women's Research Centre include the Women's Research Centre and BC Women's Studies Association constitution and mission statement, contracts, grant applications, project proposals, various research guides, surveys, statistics, various outlines, budgets, address lists, handwritten and typed notes, correspondence, facsimiles, discussion papers, extensive interdisciplinary manuscripts and abstracts created by members of the BC Women's Studies Association, extensive questionnaires and interview transcripts, drafts, reports, agendas, memos, briefs, meeting minutes, bulletins, press releases, various financial materials such as bills, receipts, expense claim forms, cheque stubs, invoices, and income and expense sheets, workshop registration and evaluation forms, membership application forms, newspapers, pamphlets, brochures, newsletters, articles, books, log books, bibliographies, purchase orders, literature reviews, and maps.

Fonds consists of textual and audiovisual material relating to the production of the movie "Manufacturing Consent: Noam Chomsky and the Media", released in 1992, and the companion book by Mark Achbar published in 1994. The filmmakers chose to capture
the majority of their work on film, rather than video, for several reasons. Firstly, during the 1980’s, video resolution was significantly lower than film negative and in an effort to ensure the image resolution was high film was chosen as the predominant medium.
As well, the NFB (National Film Board) was equipped primarily for film shooting, processing and editing. Finally, the motivation to participate in film festivals, which wanted film rather than video, compelled the filmmakers to use film as their medium. Some small format video, captured using rented broadcast quality video gear, was used for long talks or events which would have been uneconomical to shoot in film. The audiovisual material includes original camera negatives, audio and video tapes and sound bites used as research material and in the making of the film as well as some post-production rough cuts, alternative versions and promotional material relating to the distribution of the film and subsequent video. The textual material includes pre and post-production materials as well as production logs and graphical materials. Much of the post-production material relates to the promotion of the film and the media coverage of the film and of Noam Chomsky.

The fonds consists of correspondence with family, friends and with Earle Birney (1952-1994). It also includes articles, notes, photographs, and miscellaneous papers. There is a file folder of correspondence generated by Earle Birney to other correspondents.

Fonds contains records relating to the research of David C. Walker. This includes photographs of electron microscope images and illustrations regarding epithelial and endothelial tri-cellular corner tight junctions. Also included are notes, drafts, reviews, and final copies of four publications: “The role of epithelial cell tight junctions in tracheal permeability,” “The reassessment of the tricellular region of epithelial cell tight junctions,” “The structure of the tricellular junctions of pulmonary capillaries,” and “Tricellular corners: preferred sites for leukocyte emigration from the pulmonary vasculature of rabbits".

The fonds consists of forty-one interviews with thirty eight colleagues, family, students and friends of Margaret Ormsby. In addition to the 50 cassette tapes there is also general information about the project as well as textual material for each interview consisting of a tape release form signed by the interviewee, a biographical information sheet and a detailed "timed tape guide".

Fonds consists of essays, articles, offprints, reviews, contracts, correspondence, a CV, a scrapbook, photocopies, maps, plans, notes, microfilm, and photographs about the personal lives and research of Philip and Helen Akrigg. Fonds contains two series: Research Collections (1580-1993) and Personal Material (1934-1999).

Fonds consists of records made and received by the Faculty of Education, with the bulk of the records originating from the Dean's Office within the Faculty of Education. The fonds documents the leadership role of the Office of the Dean (such as the Dean's Annual Report and Dean's Briefing Sessions) and the administrative role of the office (such as "Budget," "Employment," and "Reorganization"). The fonds also contains minutes and other documentation from the Joint Board of Teacher Education, 1963-1983, and the Tri-Ed Committee, from 1966-1982. The fonds consists of two series biographical information and Do-It-Yourself Chemistry / Home Chemistry. The former includes information about Hayward including articles, CV, copies of publications and a list of his patents. The second series consists of material relating to the development of the Do-It-Yourself Chemistry program. It includes copies of newspaper columns, list of schools visited, samples of thank you letters from students, DIYC publications, photographs showing Hayward with students in various classrooms, and cassette recordings of his CFMI radio show and other interviews.

The fonds contain materials that document William Fredeman's professional activities and personal life. It consists of correspondence, reports, copies of articles, course materials, a journal, clippings, microfilms and photocopies of original manuscripts, written notes and other research materials, photographs, videocassettes, a set of index cards, and a metal seal bearing the logo of the Journal of Pre-Raphaelite & Aesthetic Studies. The materials are arranged in the following series: Colbeck Collection, JPRAS (Journal of Pre-Raphaelite & Aesthetic Studies), Emily Faithfull and the Victorian Press, Victorian Poetry, T.J. Fonds consists of audiovisual material created or compiled during production as well as 14 folders of written documentation related to the production of the film. It consists largely of interviews with Shatner, members of his family and associates, portions of previous roles portrayed by Shatner, as well as reminiscences from other prominent actors such as Leonard Nimoy, Kate Mulgrew, Patrick Stewart and Jason Alexander. There is also extensive footage of Shatner at his ranch, hosting his annual charity horseshow, touring his childhood home and McGill University, and his attempts to save the wild horses of Santa Cruz Island.
The content of this fonds is housed on several different video and audio formats: such as Betacam SP(small) and (large), Hi-8, VHS, U-Matic tape (¾ in.), audiocassette tape and DAT audio tape. Much of this audio and video material was used in the production of the final “cut” of the documentary, and content is represented across several of these formats, with audio content found in both audio and video formats.

Fonds consists almost entirely of materials created or acquired by John Knox over the course of his studies and professional life. The fonds is organized in the following series: Atmospheric blocking and Northern Hemisphere anomalies, Extended-Range and Analogue Forecasting, Climate Trends and Variability, Ocean Weather Station "Papa", Prairie drought ("Dry/Wet"), Cli-Red, and Miscellaneous Professional Activities.

The fonds consists of correspondence, reports, financial materials, bound volumes, newspaper clippings, appointment notices, applications, minutes, course outlines, questionnaires, and photographs pertaining to the origins, development and administration of the School of Family and Nutritional Sciences and its predecesssors.

The fonds primarily consists of textual records, including correspondence, reports, minutes, and published materials which together document Walter Hardwick's political and academic careers. They are arranged in series and sub-series based largely on his areas of activity and interest. The series are Urban Planning, Urban Planning Publications, Vancouver City Council, Open Learning Agency / Knowledge Network, Ministry of Education, Vancouver Urban Futures Project, Sumas Waste Processing Plant Environmental Review, Personal Papers, Essays, Reports and Reprints, and Subject Files. Photographs of architects' models for False Creek and Granville Island are also included. The fonds also includes videotapes consisting mainly of interview footage.

Fonds consists almost entirely of textual materials created or acquired by Fritz Lehmann, in both his professional and personal capacities. The materials include research notes, lecture materials, course hand-outs, manuscripts of articles and book reviews, research papers written by students, correspondence, reports, newspaper and magazine clippings (original and photocopied), and research grant applications. Also included are a folder of tributes written after Lehmann's death, and some personal correspondence addressed to Joanna Lehmann.
The fonds is arranged in the following series: Lecture Materials, Indian railways Correspondence and Research, Course Materials, Correspondence, Publications, Book Reviews, Personal, and Research Grants and Applications. These series largely reflect the original order in which the fonds was acquired. Most materials are arranged in chronological order, to reflect the evolution of Lehmann's teaching and research interests and activities.

The fonds consist of proceedings, correspondence, minutes, reports, statistics, program and course descriptions, proposals, news releases, and publications. Many of the records originated from the Director's Office of the Centre for Continuing Education, and its predecessor, the Department of University Extension. They document these units' functions, activities, policies, and relationships with other University bodies and external agencies. Also included are audio recordings of lectures and other events sponsored by the Centre. There are also records from the office of the Associate Vice-President, Academic, from when he oversaw the operations of the Centre between 1988 and 1991. Other materials originated from the Women's Resources Centre: three folders of reports, correspondence, and photocopied newspaper clippings relating to the 1971 Status of Women conference, and over thirty publications dealing with women's issues.
A 2017 accrual of material more than doubled the size of the fonds. These records included small additions to the following series: Central Office Files, Administrative Committees, and Staff Relations. More significant additions were added to the Projects and Series, Programs, UBC Departments, UBC Committees, and External Bodies series. Additionally, a significant addition to the fonds was made in the resources series, which includes proceedings and course materials.
A 2018 accrual moderately increased the size of the fonds. Some files from folders without the typical alpha-numerical filing system pattern were placed with the Central Office series. Their contents matched the series description, including grant proposals, memos, correspondence, and budget information. Two new series were added, General History and Associate Vice-President Academic (Dr. Walter Uegama). Dr. McClean's series received additions from the 1992 re-organization and the Strategic Planning of 1993. Projects and Studies, UBC Committees, and UBC Departments series received significant additions as well. External Bodies received an increase, primarily related to CAUCE. The Liaison with External Agencies, Policies and Procedures, Programs, Special Events, and Status of Women series received small additions.

The fonds consists of records which document Edgar Wickberg's research on Chinese land tenure systems and rural society, and the history of Chinese communities overseas. Materials include research notes, correspondence, computer printouts, newspaper and magazine clippings, photocopies of both archival documents and scholarly articles, and file cards and notes stored in file card boxes. The series are Land Tenure (divided into sub-series by region), Rural Localities in China, Chinese in Canada, Chinese in the United States, and File Cards.

The fonds consists of legal decisions, arbitration reports, letters, speeches, photos and two photo albums.

The fonds consists primarily of video recordings of interviews, meetings, seminars, performances, and local footage shot in Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States, East Timor and Indonesia. It consists of 178 video recordings including 97 beta tapes (large and small), 80 VHS tapes and a broadcast DVD and six audio recordings. Many of the video elements include both a beta and VHS copy. The fonds is divided into three series. The largest of the three series consists of beta and VHS tapes of raw footage and background research shot or collected by Brière from Canada, the United Kingdom, Indonesia and East Timor. This series also includes six audio recordings. There is a separate series of video recordings of lectures and interviews with Noam Chomsky regarding East Timor recorded during his visit to Vancouver in March 1996. The third series consists of beta masters of the finished documentary, including video in NTSC and PAL formats, and English, French and Swedish language versions.
Much of the content of "Bitter Paradise" consists of interviews with Canadian and foreign individuals engaged in the events in East Timor, either as businessmen, bureaucrats or politicians working with the Indonesian government on trade and development projects in East Timor, or as activists, dissidents, and supporters of the liberation movements within the island nation. In Canada, interviews with Warren Allmand, David Kilgour and Svend Robinson (federal Members of Parliament), David Webster of the East Timor Alert Network, Geoffrey Robinson (Amnesty International, now UCLA History Department), portray the interests of those supporting the resistance. At the same time, Colin Baker (Simons Engineering), David Mundy (Kilbourn Engineering) and Ron Richardson (Asia Pacific Foundation) identify business and development opportunities in East Timor and Indonesia for Canadian companies. There are insights on East Timor supplied through interviews with local and international actors, including Noam Chomsky and Carmel Budiardjo (an Indonesian dissident and founder of TAPOL). Also, with an Amnesty International prisoner of conscience, Constancio Pinto (former guerrilla fighter and currently Timor Leste Ambassador to Washington) and Muchtar Pakpahan, a labour leader jailed repeatedly in Indonesia who, in 2011, resigned as head of the Indonesian Labour Party. The documentary also includes live footage from international broadcasters (BBC, Australian Broadcasting Corp.) of the Dili Massacre (Santa Cruz Cemetery) in November 1991, when more than 260 protesters were killed by Indonesian troops. The broadcast filming of that event, first shown on ITV, the UK in 1992, was pivotal in the campaign to bring western nations to apply pressure for independence, achieved a decade later.
The fonds also contains archival film footage from the Portuguese era of East Timor, a film on projects being undertaken in the country by the Roman Catholic Church, smuggled footage of the East Timorese resistance movement in countryside, footage of Indonesian troops being trained in Australia and of the Indonesian invasion of East Timor.

The fonds consists of records that document the origins and establishment of the UBC Computing Centre as well as financial, technical, organizational, and administrative records through the time it was known as Computing Services and University Computing & Communications. Fonds consists almost entirely of materials created or acquired by Harry Adaskin throughout his life and career. It includes the manuscripts for his autobiographies, correspondence, scripts for radio broadcasts and lectures, newspaper clippings, and concert programmes, photographs, films, and audio recordings. Also included are annotated copies of Adaskin's two autobiographies: A Fiddler's World (published in 1977), and A Fiddler's Choice (1982). Some outside correspondence addressed to his wife Frances after his death is also included. The fonds is organized in the following series: Autobiographies, Hart House String Quartet, Harry and Frances (Marr) Adaskin Concerts, Musically Speaking Scripts, New York Philharmonic Broadcasts, Tuesday Night Scripts, Miscellaneous Writings, Correspondence, Audio Tapes, Autographed Photographs, Audio Discs, and Film.

This fonds is arranged into three series that track Symonds' various roles as an urban planning professional. The Urban Education/Teacher in the City series contains records created or received by Symonds while she served in the Continuing Education department at UBC, including her seminal effort to publish The Teacher and the City. The second series, Commissions and Committee Work, details Symonds' service on the Vancouver City Planning Commission and other planning-related committees she chaired or participated in for both the local B.C. context and internationally. The final series, Planning Publications, Speeches, and Writings, focuses on writings or pieces created by Symonds or publications she set aside for her purposes. These date from the early beginnings of her urban planning career in the 1950s to well after her retirement in 1983. The records included in the fonds are correspondence, meeting minutes, photographs, journal articles, newspaper clippings, brochures, memoranda, reports and invitations.

The fonds consist of various committees' records associated with CICSR between 1986 and 1996. These are advisory committees that report on academic and campus computing, science education and continuing education at the University of British Columbia.

The fonds consists of correspondence, minutes of the Association's Annual General Meeting and its Executive Committee, reports by the Association and other organizations, published materials, questionnaires, and copies of the AWA constitution and administrative history.

The fonds consists of correspondence, drafts, essays, lecture notes, course outlines, clippings and research materials created and collected by Ormsby in her diverse roles as student, professor, researcher and author. Also included are records generated between 1957 and 1967 by the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada.

The fonds consists of material related to David Aberle's research activities, academic work and writing. It includes the notebooks and journals of his fieldwork beginning in 1940-41 and continuing through 1991. These consist primarily of field notes and other notes made during and after those trips. The vast majority of this material relates to Aberle's work with the Navajo in Arizona. The fonds also includes notes, articles, data and codes relating to Aberle's research into kinship and language among the Navajo, Mongols and Athapaskans, and extensive research into Navajo culture and economy. The fonds also includes correspondence on a variety of academic subjects, including Aberle's teaching materials from UBC's Department of Anthropology and Sociology. His work includes several reports written as part of the Navajo-Hopi land dispute. The fonds includes research notes for many of Aberle's essays and articles, as well as chapters and appendixes of his books.

The fonds consists of records which reflect the functions, programmes, and activities of the Department of Health, Safety, and Environment, and includes correspondence, reports, minutes, and published materials. It is arranged in the following series: Director's Files, Correspondence, Committees / Task Forces, and General Files. Some materials pre-date the establishment of the Department in 1985, primarily created by departmental and campus-wide committees.
