The fonds consists of textual documents and audiovisual materials that relate to the filming and production of “Champions for Change.” The textual materials include synopsis and scripts, tape logs, shot lists, transcripts and interview transcripts. The audiovisual materials are 26 videotapes, including master copies of the three-part series “Champions for Change,” the master dub tape, and additional footage of interviews with key individuals. Fonds documents several of Eva-Marie Kröller’s academic projects: her biography of British Columbia author George Bowering, Bright Circles of Colours (Talonbooks, 1992); essays on Roy Kiyooka and Emily Carr; her book Canadian Travellers in Europe, 1851-1900 (UBC Press, 1987); materials relating to her book Writing the Empire: The McIlwraiths, 1853-1948 (2021); an article entitled “Une femme bien en vue”: Adrienne Clarkson and the Media (2014); and an anthology of travel literature that she and historian Pierre Savard were planning, but which was not completed before Savard’s death in 1998 in addition to other various research materials. The last letter is dated October 8, 2007, and was written a little over a month before Jane Rule’s death. The fonds also includes four CD’s featuring Jane Rule reading a selection of her short stories including “House,” “A Chair for George,” “Seaweed & Song,” “You Cannot Judge a Pumpkin by the Smile Upon His Face,” “A Migrant’s Christmas,” “If There is No Gate,” “Home Movie,” “Blessed are the Dead,” and “Dulce.” Apparently, the recordings were produced in a small number for distribution to family and friends. The fonds also includes a copy of a videotape entitled Fiction and Other Truths: A Film About Jane Rule (Eds. Lynne Fernie, Aerlyn Weissman).

Fonds consists of a “transit book” – a bound notebook used by Hal Norman for notes and measurements taken during his Surveying course in 1923 – and three maps of UBC’s Fairview and Point Grey campuses, hand-drawn in 1923 and plotted in 1976.

Fonds consists of documentation of Hans Ronimois’ personal and professional life. Included is documentation of his first wife’s grave (in Swedish), his Canadian citizenship certificate dated 1961, CVs, publication lists, lecture notes, newspaper clippings, and a typescript copy of the first chapter of a report written by Ronimois titled Soviet Economic Organization (1951).

Fonds consists of records documenting the history of the Volkoff family, in particular the life and career of George Volkoff. It includes manuscripts, correspondence, research notes, academic records and other official documentation, certificates, published items, photographs (black and white prints of various sizes, black and white 35mm negatives, and digital scans from original prints), memorabilia, and digital media. The Alderman and Member of Legislative Assembly Records consists of material related to Williams' roles as Alderman of the City of Vancouver and later as M.L.A. for East Vancouver. Records include letters, faxes, telegrams, newspaper clippings, reports, speeches, notes and other related material.

The Ministry of Forests Lands and Water Resources Records series relates to Williams's time spent on the provincial cabinet working under the government of Dave Barret. Records consist primarily of correspondence, especially between Williams and major corporations and individuals in the forest industry. Other records include reports, studies, news clippings, bills and acts, speeches, presentation materials, and transcripts.

The Crown Corporations records series is comprised of documents stemming from Williams' activities as chair of ICBC, and his work in the Crown Corporations. Many records relate to the construction of Surrey City Centre. Record types include correspondence, reports, legal documents, and news clippings.

The Business, Personal and Academic Records series contains records related Williams’ business career, personal memories and diaries, pictures and travel memorabilia, and his experiences meeting other politicians. Record types include planning consultant studies, correspondence, interviews, and materials from his academic career including course outlines and reading lists.

The fonds consists of records made and received by Laurenda Daniells in her professional and personal life. The fonds documents her involvement and participation in conferences, and various professional archival associations, such as ACA, SAA, ARMA, etc., and Vancouver Historical Society. Also included are records of Laurenda’s time with the UBC’s Faculty Association and her research on university archives policy and copyright. The fonds contain incoming and outgoing correspondence to family, friends, and colleagues from other organizations. Textual records are memorandums, meeting agendas and minutes, reports, programmes, proposals, notes, drafts, papers, proposals, surveys, newspapers, a speech by Daniells, correspondence, and photographs.

The collection consists of records documenting John MacDermot’s proposed History of Medicine in British Columbia, and includes correspondence, written notes, minutes, clippings, completed survey forms, and written and typed manuscripts.

The fonds contains correspondence, drafts of Luft’s books and papers, mathematical proofs and notes of Luft’s concepts, notes on the work of other mathematicians work, work records about Luft’s time at UBC, records created while Luft was a student, and ephemera. The records relate primarily to McDonald's professional teaching, writing and research work and, to a much lesser extent, are records about his personal life. The course teaching materials include outlines and syllabi, lecture notes, class handouts, newspaper clippings, website printouts, and other materials used to develop course content. Records relating to McDonald's writing include typescript drafts, off-prints, handwritten notes, conference papers, and correspondence. The most extensive records relate to McDonald's research. They include newspaper clippings and other published items, copies of articles annotated by McDonald's, handwritten index cards with notes and citations, correspondence, and audio recordings of interviews, music and speeches. Finally, records related to awards and recognition received include curriculum vitae, certificates, correspondence and McDonald's Killam Teaching Award from 2000.

The fonds consists of records relating to the teaching, research and supervision work of Edmond Granirer. The records in this fonds include published math articles, correspondence with colleagues and organizations, lecture notes and presentations on Algebra given around the world. There are also records of his early career in the US and student evaluations of his classes. Also in the fonds are newspaper clippings, reports, programs and photographs. The records have been divided into four series Career Records, Published Papers, Lectures and Conferences, and Correspondence.

The fonds consists of approximately 1,750 35 mm. negatives of photographs taken between 1994 and 2008 by Longson. Over the years, several of her images were used to illustrate Christmas and other greeting cards for various University units. In addition, selective prints from the negatives have been scanned and added to the online photographic database. The fonds also includes printed and electronic samples of the cards created from the Longson images and digital copies of some photos stored on CDs.

Fonds consists of documentation of the activities of the UBC Student Christian Movement during the early 1930s and includes a minute book for the SCM “Grad Group” (1930-35), two small SCM promotional pamphlets (1934), and assorted correspondence (1933-34).

The fonds consist of textual records related to the workshops and conferences that Hagler attended and publications he was involved in. The fonds also includes photographs that may have been taken at those conferences or included in published texts. The fonds consists mainly of Centre for Human Settlements materials and a few files from the rest of the School of Community and Regional Planning. The fonds consists of field notebooks, reference materials and a forestry report written by Marchant. Of particular note to UBC is Marchant’s research in the summer of 1979 on the botany of the cliffs at Point Grey.

Fonds consists of nine pages of handwritten excerpts from Eileen Keel’s diary covering the school years 1938/39 and 1939/40, and one page of photocopied prints depicting the UBC campus during this period and Keel’s graduation.

The fonds consists of two series: Photographic and Audiovisual. The photographs were created by Information Services and Community Relations and were transferred to the University Archives by the Public Affairs Office. The photographs are 35 mm negative format and digital-born photos on optical discs. The images document a wide variety of important people, events and activities at the University of British Columbia between 1980 and 1991.

The video and audio recordings ([1966?]-2008) are of events on campus both at UBC Vancouver and Okanagan, including the announcement of the Okanagan campus. The material includes copies of media clips, promotional videos, speeches, the visit of dignitaries such as the Dalai Lama and stock footage. The audiovisual formats include VHS, DVD, Umatic, Betacam sp and unknown optical disc formats. Sound recordings are made up of cassette tapes and compact disc digital audio (CD-DA).

Most of the materials in the original accession were created by Information Services and Community Relations, the predecessor agencies of Public Affairs.
