The fonds consists of records from International House (1955-1963) and the Board of Trustees of the International House Association (1953-1963) as well as assorted printed material generated by International House. The Collection also includes a scrapbook of early advertising memorabilia (1895-1900), a history of UBC's Department of Psychology, collected material pertaining to the Axis powers during World War II and an unidentified diary.

The correspondence is informally arranged within a classification system that was inconsistently applied and developed until 1964. Two reference sheets for the subject classification system remain for 1956 and 1963 and are included in the first file for each of those two years. Many of the headings reflect the categories used by the Department of Agronomy. Intermingled with the files of the division are some of the faculty papers of V.C. Brink, the chair of the division. In 1964, the entire system appears to have broken down. From 1964 to 1970 all the division correspondence files were stored in unlabelled file folders the vast majority of which exhibited no internal coherence. Because of the presence of Brink's faculty papers in the files, and because of the absence of the division's classification system, the records from 1964 to 1970 have been arranged and described with Brink's personal papers. For a complete understanding of the functions and activities of the division, these records must also be consulted.

The bulk of the fonds documents the administrative activities of the Division, such as personnel, budgets, meetings, committees, and the association with the Faculty of Education and other offices at UBC. Additional records are related to the field of Industrial Education in general. Textual records are comprised of memorandums, meeting agendas and minutes, correspondence, reports, notes, curriculum, and lesson plans. The fonds consists of approximately 1,750 35 mm. negatives of photographs taken between 1994 and 2008 by Longson. The collection consists of a medal for bravery, likely awarded to a family member for meritorious service during the Boxer Uprising (義和團運動), which was a series of incidents in China with anti-imperialist and xenophobic roots that lasted from 1899 until 1901; and a fragment of a corresponding letter of recommendation. The medal was specifically awarded to the recipient for their conduct during the Siege of Tienstin, which was a major battle during the Boxer Uprising, and the letter of recommendation mentions a Mr. D’Arc, which is likely Desmond’s maternal grandfather who was a volunteer rifleman at Tientsin. Lastly, the collection contains an album consisting of photographs of Tientsin during and immediately after the Boxer Uprising. The album primarily includes photographs of troop movements and military equipment, but also includes a few personal family photographs.

The fonds consists of correspondence, reports, minutes of meetings, and published materials such as programs and flyers, and documents the programs and activities of the Department. It is arranged in the following series: General Administration, Meetings (with sub-series: Department and Committees), Department Programs (with sub-series: Art Education (ARTE) and Music Education (MUED)), and “Quarterly Quorum.” The Art Education sub-series includes records that pre-date the establishment of the Department and document the Art Education program during the late 1970s.

The fonds consists of records generated by both the Dept. of University Extension (1936-1969) and its predecessor, the Extension Lectures Committee (1918-1935). It appears that the records were re-arranged to facilitate the writing of Gordon Selman's history of the Department, and the original order was lost. records; professional and vocational education; the humanities and summer school; evening classes, lectures and correspondence courses; supporting services; pamphlets, brochures and course material; and Selman's own research notes. The fonds also includes a large number of photographs primarily from the 1950s and 1960s which depict campus events as well as people and buildings, as well as audio recordings of lectures and other events.

Fonds consists of laboratory manuals published by the UBC Department of Physics between 1949 and 1966 (most dated 1957-1962); mimeographed hand-outs for experiments and other assignments; hand-written lecture notes; and a 1944 Canadian Army physics laboratory manual. Many of the manuals are annotated. The manuals are bound, but the notes and hand-outs are loose; all have been placed in acid-free folders. They are arranged by course number, and then chronologically; unnumbered materials, and folders containing unsorted material from various courses, were placed at the end.

Fonds covers an extended period, beginning with administrative material, which includes departmental budgets dating back to the early 1920s and continuing through the 1950s. There are records about the construction and renovation of the Biological Sciences Building, minutes from the various committees on which department heads sat, and material about UBC's Botanical Garden. The records of the Department of Athletics and Recreation fonds are representative of the athletics side of the Department of Athletics and Recreation. While athletics and recreation fall under the same department, in practice, they operate independently of one another. Their textual records are also physically held at separate locations. Surviving records in the Department of Athletics and Recreation fonds are broadly representative of the achievements of UBC athletes and teams. Far less extensive, are the types of administrative documents produced or accumulated in the course of the day-to-day business of the department. Examples of records present in the fonds include programs, historical research, scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, team rosters, scoresheets, profile write-ups, yearbooks, media guides, correspondence, agendas, training schedules, coaching handbooks, travel itineraries, and ephemera.
The Department of Athletics and Recreation fonds is arranged in the following series; Athletics photographs, Athletics History, Baseball, Basketball, Athletic Events (including Big Block, Hall of Fame, and Millennium Breakfast), Cross Country Track and Field, Field Hockey, Football, Golf, Ice Hockey, Media & Promotions, Assorted Sports, Other Sports (which includes Skiing, Sailing, Tennis, Gymnastics, Rowing and Wrestling), Rugby, Soccer, Swimming and Volleyball.

Fonds consists of minutes from the Dept. of Animal Science (1970-1981), the Department of Poultry Science (1968-1982), and the University Research Farm (Oyster River) Management Committee (1955/56). Also included are records about the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences in general.

Fonds includes materials regarding the livestock breed by the department and the much-acclaimed cattle herds.

The fonds consists of the correspondence series, which is all that remains of the records of the Department of Agronomy. During its early years, the Department concentrated mostly on public education and outreach, and the material reflects this, for it includes a large number of inquiries from local farmers and gardeners regarding their crops. It is arranged in an identifiable classification system that is consistently used and developed throughout the years.

The fonds consists of born-digital photographs Gregory took in his role as UBC Landscape Architect of the University of British Columbia Okanagan Campus between 2008 and 2016. Photographs depict the construction of landscape features and gardens as well as their growth, demonstrating the change on campus throughout the years.

Fonds consists of a typewritten narrative of McKechnie’s and classmate George Gilchrist’s 1919 hiking trip through the Bridge River region, and two photocopied 1977 articles about his dog-sled journey from Hudson Bay to Cambridge Bay in the western Arctic.

The collection consists of records associated with Librarian Ture Erickson's participation on the Day of Concern Committee in 1984. The material begins early in 1984 and continues through to the September "Day of Concern." Included are handwritten minutes of the meetings, printed material, correspondence, clippings, memorabilia, posters and copies of addresses given at the Robson Square Media Centre.

Fonds consists of textual and audiovisual material related to David Suzuki's professional work. It includes notes and manuscripts of several of his books, including From Pebbles to Computers and Sciencescape and copies of correspondence relating to his articles published by The Globe and Mail, the Southam News Syndicate and Science Dimension in the 1980s. It also includes correspondence relating to his professional work, his broadcasting and literary career, his work in the Department of Zoology at UBC, and research materials, information and correspondence regarding various associations to which Suzuki belonged or had dealings. It also includes recordings of David Suzuki's "Discovery" and "Equinox" from 1983-1990 and video recordings of some episodes of "The Nature of Things" from 1994, and copies of his speeches from 1985-2009.

The fonds consists of records relating to the education, research, career, and post-retirement activities of David Narver. The fonds is organized into three series: Postdoctoral Education; Career; and Personal. The Postdoctoral Education series includes records related to Narver’s PhD research while enrolled at the University of Washington. Narver worked as a researcher at the Canadian Fisheries Research Board Biological Station in Nanaimo, BC, and in Chignik, Alaska, working on salmon research projects. The Career series covers records related to Narver’s three-decade career. Narver worked for the BC Ministry of Environment, Fisheries Branch and Fish and Wildlife Branch, as Anadromous Fisheries Coordinator, Acting Chief of Fisheries Management, and Director of the Fisheries Branch. Records in the Career series include speeches and presentations, official correspondence, policy and administrative records (including meeting minutes), and research reports. The Personal series includes records related to Narver’s undergraduate or graduate post-secondary education, speeches and presentations given after his retirement, and a manuscript of his account of his time in Alaska. Narver remained active in fish, fishing, and fish habitat work after his retirement, working with the BC Wildlife Federation among other organizations.

Fonds consists of materials related to David Measday from his time as a graduate student at Oxford to his post-retirement work at UBC. The fonds primarily include material regarding his research, academic writings, and administrative duties at the University of British Columbia. Additionally, reports arise from various international, governmental, and non-governmental organizations with which Measday had some association. Organizational records include materials for the development of TRIUMF. There is also a small amount of teaching material from lectures and physics courses taught by Measday. Material is organized into series based on intuitional association, most of which is from Measday’s time working at UBC and TRIUMF.
