The contents of the fonds pertain to the life and work of Crawford Kilian. Materials include research and planning for novels, published and unpublished manuscripts, originals of published columns, personal and professional correspondence and appointment books. The focuses of Kilian’s writing are science fiction, educational systems and teaching, cultural issues and history, the economy, the environment, and technological developments, specifically the Internet. Writing material included in this fonds ranges from the 1960’s to the 2000’s. Other included material relates to Kilian’s time spent in China as an English teacher. The type of material in the fonds is primarily handwritten and typed paper records, but also includes newspaper, compact discs and publications.

Fonds consists of records documenting the programs and activities of the Radio Society / CiTR (including DISCORDER), including textual records and sound recordings of a variety of programs, radio plays, campus events, public service announcements, photographs of the radio studio and from different events, and advertisements produced by the Radio Society for broadcast on its station (CYVR/CiTR) or affiliated radio stations. In addition, the fonds includes recordings of interviews conducted on behalf of the Alma Mater society relating to its art collection. Fonds also consists of materials related to the administration of the radio station including information about licensing, executive meetings, policies, job descriptions, and staff training.

The fonds consists of records related to Kathryn Shoemaker's illustrative works, and includes final artwork and sketches, as well as draft texts, dummy copies, resource materials, published reviews and correspondence, including the author and publisher, relating to the production of the work.

Ames assembled this group of records through his participation on the C.S.A.A. team, which studied the situation. The papers also include Ames's descriptions of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Museums Association (1980-1983) and the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute (1967-1995). The material relating to the Shastri Institute includes records generated or collected by Ames and other members of the Institute at UBC. The names of other members are indicated in the file title. Also, the fonds contains manuscripts and drafts, records about Ames's research, courses taught by Ames, a variety of conferences and seminars, and records about Ames’ participation in several museum studies program reviews. Finally, the fonds also contain Ames' involvement with the Museum of Anthropology (MOA). Most records as Director and Acting Director of MOA are held at the MOA Archives. The fonds consists of Eric Nicol’s business correspondence, drafts (handwritten notebooks and typescripts) for various writings, finished scripts for plays and shows, drafts, reference materials, reviews of his work, printed materials featuring his articles, subject files, royalty statements and other financial records regarding the publication of Nicol's books, as well as posters, newspaper clippings, awards, photographs and other ephemera which document Nicol's career as a writer. The fonds contains a file of his correspondence with The Vancouver Sun, which was kept by the Sun and later given to Nicol. His writings are categorized into radio scripts, television scripts, stage scripts, books, articles, short stories and other writings. Drafts and related materials of each category comprise a series.

Fonds consists predominantly of copies of Douglas Bankson’s plays, scripts and short stories. It also includes photographs from two Bankson plays and of his artwork, as well as different posters and recordings from miscellaneous Bankson productions.

Fonds consists of the handwritten manuscript for George Bulhak’s book U.B.C. Panorama, published in 1945. Included are photographs and sketches by Bulhak intended for inclusion in the book and U.B.C. President N.A.M. MacKenzie’s handwritten “Foreword.” The manuscript was written in what was originally a bound ledger – isolated ledger entries can be found on the otherwise blank back pages, indicating that it may have been left as surplus at Burhak’s place of employment when he used it for his manuscript.

The fonds consists of manuscript material, including text and sketches, for an unpublished work by MacDonald entitled Trees of Canada. In addition, the fonds includes 222 sketches of non-Canadian trees as well as two sketchbooks containing pressed leaves.

Fonds consists of photocopies of the wills of Emily Carr (1945) and Ira Dilworth (1954), regarding the ownership of Carr's copyright. The fonds also includes correspondence (1967-1983) from artist Gordon Smith addressed to John Parnall and his family, as well as printed material regarding Smith. Also included are Parnall's certificates of service from the Pacific Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers.

The fonds consists of Ricou's correspondence during his teaching careers at the University of Lethbridge and UBC. The fonds also includes records relating to his involvement with the Association of Canadian University Teachers of English (ACUTE), book reviews, negotiated grants, Literary History of Canada, Canada research fellowships and a summer course taught on the writings of Malcolm Lowry. The fonds also contains research information pertaining to the life and work of Canadian author Patricia Blondal.

The fonds reflects Leonard and Kitty Maracle's involvement in the British Columbia Association of Non-Status Indians (BCANSI), as well as various other Aboriginal organizations, committees, clubs, programs, projects and events. The fonds consists of correspondence, meeting minutes, proposals and reports, notes, publications, newspaper clippings, photographs and various ephemera relating to Aboriginal rights and political activity primarily in British Columbia but also throughout Canada. The fonds also contains some of Leonard and Kitty’s personal papers, including correspondence, family photographs, writings and notes.

The fonds is divided into seventeen series: British Columbia Association of Non-Status Indians (BCANSI); Other Indian and Metis Associations; Native Women's Organizations and Other Issues Related to the Status of Women; Native Housing; Native Arts and Crafts; Centers; Program and Projects; Indian Clubs; Committees and Councils; Events; Subject Case Files; Native People and the Criminal Justice System; Surveys and Cooperative; Other Organizations; Government; Workshops, Addresses, General Reports, Resumes and Lists of Organizations; and, Printed Material, Audiovisual Materials and Miscellaneous.

The fonds consist of proceedings, correspondence, minutes, reports, statistics, program and course descriptions, proposals, news releases, and publications. Many of the records originated from the Director's Office of the Centre for Continuing Education, and its predecessor, the Department of University Extension. They document these units' functions, activities, policies, and relationships with other University bodies and external agencies. Also included are audio recordings of lectures and other events sponsored by the Centre. There are also records from the office of the Associate Vice-President, Academic, from when he oversaw the operations of the Centre between 1988 and 1991. Other materials originated from the Women's Resources Centre: three folders of reports, correspondence, and photocopied newspaper clippings relating to the 1971 Status of Women conference, and over thirty publications dealing with women's issues.
A 2017 accrual of material more than doubled the size of the fonds. These records included small additions to the following series: Central Office Files, Administrative Committees, and Staff Relations. More significant additions were added to the Projects and Series, Programs, UBC Departments, UBC Committees, and External Bodies series. Additionally, a significant addition to the fonds was made in the resources series, which includes proceedings and course materials.
A 2018 accrual moderately increased the size of the fonds. Some files from folders without the typical alpha-numerical filing system pattern were placed with the Central Office series. Their contents matched the series description, including grant proposals, memos, correspondence, and budget information. Two new series were added, General History and Associate Vice-President Academic (Dr. Walter Uegama). Dr. McClean's series received additions from the 1992 re-organization and the Strategic Planning of 1993. Projects and Studies, UBC Committees, and UBC Departments series received significant additions as well. External Bodies received an increase, primarily related to CAUCE. The Liaison with External Agencies, Policies and Procedures, Programs, Special Events, and Status of Women series received small additions.

The fonds consists of material relating to the foundation and early development of the Department of Fine Arts and other university-related committees and activities in which Binning participated, including the Fine Arts Committee, the Festival of Contemporary Arts, and the development of Nitobe Gardens. Also included are photographs relating to his theatre career and biographical material, including school transcripts and video cassette tapes of an episode of Da Vinci's Inquest that Panych directed. The fonds also includes musical scores, programmes, manuscripts, and lyrics from his musical theatre work; newspaper and magazine clippings of reviews and articles making mention of Emerson and his acquaintances; and miscellaneous non-textual materials including a photograph and two 45 rpm audio discs.

Fonds consists of textual records generated throughout Dr. Miller's career with the Department of English. They document his involvement in Departmental affairs and include correspondence with students and other faculty; Departmental memos and newsletters, teaching notes; and committee minutes. The records also illustrate some of his interests and activities outside the Department, including the Faculty of Arts Committee on Student Life; President's Committees on University Lectures, and Spiritual Life; the UBC Anglican-United Campus Ministry, and the Co-operative Christian Campus Ministry; the Humanities Association of Canada; and the Association of Canadian University Teachers of English.

There are also materials from Morehart’s personal life, including artwork, which consists primarily of several canvas boards and other flat materials, and personal correspondence. Fonds consists of reports and published and unpublished material which reflect his anthropological interests particularly in the areas of religion and mythology. Fonds also includes Burridge's B. Litt. thesis (1950) and Ph.D. thesis (1953), as well as some recordings of his class lectures given from 1986-1987 recorded by anthropology student Lindy-Lou Flynn.

The fonds consists of two series: the Roma Research series and a Publications series composed of copies of Cohn's publications. The first series includes material generated or collected by Cohn in the course of researching Roma. It includes audiotaped interviews of Rom with notebooks containing descriptions and analysis of the conversations; a computer-generated inventory of kinship ties among hundreds of North American Roma; a transcript of a New York trial (1962) of a Roma fortune teller; miscellaneous printed and published materials on Roma, collected by Cohn; and materials from a correspondence course for learning Romani (1969/70). The research series also contains photographs (1968-74) of Roma taken by Cohn throughout North America and Europe. The Publications series includes copies of Cohn articles (1959-1993) and a bibliography of his works (1950-1993).

The fonds consists of records related to Simons’ writing career, travels, and personal life. Records span a period from Simons’ early years in university to 2012 and were created predominantly in Vancouver, British Columbia. Some records were created during Simons’ travels in England, France, Japan, Hong Kong, India, and Burma. The fonds comprises the following three series: Literary Works; Professional and Personal Records; and Travel Records.

The Literary Works series features drafts of Simons’ literary works in various genres, particularly drama (stage, radio, and film) and fiction (for children and adults). Record types include publications, drafts (typed, handwritten, and hand-annotated), outlines, notes, research materials for projects, several recordings of Simons’ works, and large poster boards Simons used for plotting one of her fiction projects.

The Professional and Personal Records series contains records related to the administration and management of Simons’ literary career, particularly her attempts to submit work to various publishers and producers, mount productions of her dramatic works, and secure adequate financial resources to sustain her writerly practice. Administrative records are frequently mixed physically with Simons’ personal correspondence to family and friends. Record types include drafts of Simons’ curriculum vitae, grant applications, professional and personal correspondence, professional photographs, and contracts.

The Travel Records series aggregates records from Simons’ three major trips: Europe from 1959-1961; Japan, Hong Kong, and India from 1967-1968; and Hong Kong, Burma, India, and Japan in 1986. Simons attended many plays, conferences, and art shows while traveling and preserved programs as a source of inspiration for her creative work. Simons also maintained correspondence with friends and family during her travels. Record types include programs, personal and professional correspondence, personal photographs, and Simons’ notes on various activities.

The fonds consists of personal and professional materials created and collected by Professor Jacob Zilber. The fonds consists of screenplays, manuscripts, drafts, notes, and correspondences relating to Jacob Zilber's published and unpublished materials. The fonds also includes biographical and autobiographical material, clippings, teaching records and course materials.
