The collection consists of approximately fifty small collections or fonds donated by individuals and organizations. It includes material (including photographs) from the following individuals or organizations: Yoshimitsu Akagawa, Rintaro Hayashi, Japanese Fishermen's Benevolent Association, Kishizo Kimura, Masajiro Miyazaki, Japanese Canadian Citizens' Association, Hideichi Nosaka, Yoshio Ono, Yukio Shimoda, Rinkichi Tagashira, Shingeichi Uchibori, Chiyo Umezuki, Tokikazu Tanaka, Yasutaro Yamaga, Tameo Kanabara, Richmond Berry Growers Association, Shogo Kobayashi, Skeena Fishermen's Association, Jisaburo Wakabayashi, J. Uno, Camp and Mill Workers Federal Labour Union, and Mitsuru Shimpo. The collection encompasses a wide range of topics including relocation to internment camps during World War II, farming, lumbering, religious activities, and personal reminiscences, as well as various organizational records. Individual collections have been arranged and described separately and filed in alphabetical order. Most of the manuscript material has been photocopied from original documents.

The fonds consists of minutes (1949-1983), subject files (1952-1984), agreements (1960-1985), constitutions and by-laws (1963-1985), membership cards and applications (1963-1984). Also included are records of the Writers' Guild (B.C. Branch) which consist of correspondence (1977-1985), minutes of the B.C. Branch (1980-1984), minutes of the ACTRA Writers' Guild national meetings (1977-1985), papers and reports (1979/80) and a Writers Directory (1981).

The fonds consists of constitutional papers, minutes, and bylaws, media coverage files, correspondence, newsletters, financial records, and subject files pertaining to visitors and guests, committees, projects, charter flights and club associates.

The fonds consists of a variety of materials, once housed in the Vancouver offices of the IWW, including correspondence, newspapers, convention reports, brochures and cash books, posters, sound recordings of IWW songs, two glass panels from the Vancouver office with IWW insignia, charter and postcards. Fonds includes correspondence, subject files, minutes, photographs, posters and periodicals relating to labour and political issues ca. 1986, such as those relating to Expo '86, and includes correspondence of Bill Culp, Pam Tranfield, and Tom Wayman.

The fonds consists of general and executive board minutes (1904-1976), minutes of unit meetings (1948-1976) and various locals including South Slocan, Local 999 Castlegar, Penticton, Trail, and Kelowna. It also includes trial board records pertaining to the Lenkurt Electric Company dispute (1966-1967).

The fonds consists of correspondence, agreements, subject files, work records, press releases, printed material and minutes pertaining to the activities of the union. Minutes of the Prince Rupert local and Great Northern Railway Section of Dock Employees for locals 501 and 507 are included. Subject files contain information on foremen's disputes and other strikes. The tapes consist of Canadian Area convention proceedings and caucus meetings. The cassette tapes were generated by an oral history project carried out by members of the ILWU Local 500 which led to a publication entitled "Man Along the Shore".

The fonds consists of 134 cassette tapes of 91 interviews with Japanese Canadians and two bound volumes containing an index to individuals interviewed, data sheets and consent forms for use of the material.

The fonds consists of documents, letters, photographs and printed material relating to Frank H. Sherman and collective bargaining between mining companies in Fernie, B.C., Crow's Nest Pass and southern Alberta and the United Mine Workers of America, District 18.

The fonds consists of photocopies of minute books of the Gay Alliance Toward Equality (1971-1980), photocopies of selected items in the files of the organization and a list of files created by G.A.T.E. The fonds consists of two series: Administrative Files and Subject Files. The Administrative Files series consists of meeting minutes, correspondence, financial statements, and the constitution and policies and principles guidelines for the organization. The Subject Files series contains files of a variety of subjects with which the Gay Alliance Toward Equality dealt.

The fonds consists of correspondence and clippings pertaining to the CCF political movement and Smith's newsletters, newspaper columns and submissions to various commissions. Fonds also includes a transcript of an interview with Evelyn Smith conducted by Rachel Epstein.

The fonds consists of records pertaining to B.C. Women's Rights committees as well as to the Task Force on Older Women in British Columbia. Included are sound recordings (cassettes) of hearings conducted by the Task Force, steering committee annual files (1975-1983), correspondence, committees, conferences, subject files, newsletters (1973-1984), publications, ephemera and resource files. The Task Force records include administration files (1979-1983), correspondence, briefs, hearings, publications, ephemera and printed material.

The fonds consists of administrative and organizational records created by the British Columbia Dieticians and Nutritionists Association.

The fonds consists of an incomplete set of convention minutes and proceedings (1927-1959), scrapbooks of clippings from 1963, campaign literature, files from Cam Avery including material relating to the development of various Liberal policies, files from Pat McGeer pertaining to his tenure as party leader, papers reflecting election coverage in each riding for certain years and press clippings relating to the political careers of several Liberal MP's from 1969 to 1972.

The fonds consists of the records of the B.C. chapter of the Voice of Women (1960-1978) and local chapters (Powell River, Vancouver, North Vancouver, and West Vancouver branches) include subject files, correspondence, minutes, scrapbooks, newsletters, conference proceedings, press clippings, president's papers, and financial reports reflecting the organization's involvement with disarmament, human rights issues, ecology and politics.

The fonds consists of the correspondence of various Education Directors, 1956-1974; material from Winter School, 1967-1974; and the Labour College of Canada, 1963-1977; education files for British Columbia labour councils, 1956-1974; and Canadian Labour Congress correspondence and printed material, 1970-1977.

The fonds consists of records pertaining to her life and pottery work in the form of correspondence (1931-1977), clippings, printed material, photographs, and diaries. The fonds also includes information on the Allied Officers Club of Vancouver. Correspondence with her husband, Dr. H.R.L. Davis, includes over 500 letters (1940-1944) and includes information about the Canadian armed forces in Britain.

The fonds consists of records of the Vancouver Hoo-Hoo Club No. 48 and the International Concatenated Order of the Hoo-Hoo and the records of Scott's participation in these organizations. It includes correspondence, financial records, minutes, photographs, printed material and related material. In addition, Scott compiled notes and lists on lumber retailers, wholesalers, forestry manufacturing units, and lumber exporters as well as a collection of rules for the grading and dressing of lumber, 1922-1970.

In addition, the fonds consists of the records of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen (.27 m, 1942-1968), the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen (5.25 m, 1919-1969), the Vancouver Joint Council of Railway Unions (.55 m, 1971-1984), and the Vancouver Rail Task Force, (1 m, mainly 1977-1982).

The fonds consists of biographical information, diaries (1962-1966), manuscripts, correspondence and collected historical material pertaining to the Haney Agricultural Association (1906-1962), Fraser Valley Japanese Language School (1920-1953), Nipponia Home (1941-1969) and the Japanese Canadian United Church (1919-1966).

The fonds consists of minutes, correspondence, financial records and printed material from various Vancouver-based organizations (including the Vancouver Vietnam Day Committee and the Vancouver Committee to End the War in Vietnam) opposed to the war in Vietnam (1966-1972).

The fonds consists of agreements and printed material detailing the activities of the United Steelworkers of America in British Columbia (1966-1973) and personal correspondence relating to King's activities (1973-1975).

The fonds consists of financial records, minutes, agendas, notices and programs, scientific papers, election and membership records, conference records and extensive correspondence files.

The fonds consists of minute books, correspondence, photographs, newsletters, historical accounts, printed material and ephemera which reflect the Association's mandate to help camp leaders coordinate camping work in the province, establish standards and safeguards for camping and to stimulate community interest in the activity.

The fonds consists of research files compiled during the writing of Paul Phillip's No Power Greater: A Century of Labour in British Columbia, scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, political education material, history questionnaires and minutes of the Federation and affiliated associations. Five subsequent accessions have resulted in the deposit of office files, financial records, briefs, convention proceedings, speeches, memoranda, photographs and sound recordings reflecting the wide scope of activity and interest pursued by the Federation.

The fonds consists of office files, log books, minutes, posters and buttons. The office files consist mainly of correspondence, including that with the Canadian Peace Congress and the World Peace Council, and printed material. Some of the correspondence include the Pacific National Exhibition.

The fonds consists of minutes, membership records, financial records, correspondence and subject files from the office of the Registrar of the College. In addition, it includes prescription record books of early pharmacies in B.C. collected by the College.
