The fonds primarily contains the organizational, administrative, and operational records of the V.I.P.O.W.C. and the Irish Solidarity Committee dating from 1977 to 1994. The fonds also includes 165 audio cassettes of Saoirse Eirleann. The fonds divides into three series: The Textual Material Series, the Saoirse Eirleann Audio Cassette Series, and the Events Material Series.

The fonds consists of records created and collected by John A. Munro in the course of his research and writing on the careers of Gordon Churchill, John George Diefenbaker, Jack Horner, Carl Nickle, Lester B. Pearson, H.H. Stevens, David J. Walker, W.A.C. Bennett, Derrick Humphreys, Gordon Wilson, a holocaust survivor, Michel Mielnicki, and the Edelweiss Credit Union. It also includes Munro's works on Canadian External Relations, 1936-1939, the Atherton railway accident case, the Alaska Boundary Dispute, "Tai Tai", the China experiences of Dr. and Mrs. Ralph Outerbridge (includes diaries, 1938-1950 and manuscripts), material relating to the publication of "Beyond the Moongate", research on British Columbia and Confederation, and a biography on Senator David A. Croll. Fonds includes a notebook of Lester B. Pearson and a letter to Pearson from Norman Hiller regarding the Riddell incident and material relating to screenplays, including "Blue Ribbon".

The collection consists of approximately fifty small collections or fonds donated by individuals and organizations. It includes material (including photographs) from the following individuals or organizations: Yoshimitsu Akagawa, Rintaro Hayashi, Japanese Fishermen's Benevolent Association, Kishizo Kimura, Masajiro Miyazaki, Japanese Canadian Citizens' Association, Hideichi Nosaka, Yoshio Ono, Yukio Shimoda, Rinkichi Tagashira, Shingeichi Uchibori, Chiyo Umezuki, Tokikazu Tanaka, Yasutaro Yamaga, Tameo Kanabara, Richmond Berry Growers Association, Shogo Kobayashi, Skeena Fishermen's Association, Jisaburo Wakabayashi, J. Uno, Camp and Mill Workers Federal Labour Union, and Mitsuru Shimpo. The collection encompasses a wide range of topics including relocation to internment camps during World War II, farming, lumbering, religious activities, and personal reminiscences, as well as various organizational records. Individual collections have been arranged and described separately and filed in alphabetical order. Most of the manuscript material has been photocopied from original documents.

The fonds consists of a personal scrapbook, a university degree certificate, the manuscript of her novel Resignation (Shikataganai), correspondence, clippings on the subject of women, Japanese-Canadians and other ethnic groups, and printed material relating to several courses which she took. The fonds also includes two binders of material on guidelines for novel-writing and descriptive cataloguing, a dramatized version of her novel as well as her M.A. projects.

The fonds consists of constitutional papers, minutes, and bylaws, media coverage files, correspondence, newsletters, financial records, and subject files pertaining to visitors and guests, committees, projects, charter flights and club associates.

The fonds consists of records pertaining to the production of "The Way of the Indian", a program produced by CBC in 1961. It consists of transcripts of the program and transcripts of recorded interviews gathered to prepare the script. It also includes three essays, "Reminiscences of British Columbia from 1862" by Charles F. Morison [n.d.], "A Recollection of the Early Days in Northern British Columbia: Steamboating by Steamwheeler on the Skeena River" by J.W. Morison (1910) and a preliminary draft of "The Documentary in Sound" by Imbert Orchard [n.d.].

The fonds consists of 134 cassette tapes of 91 interviews with Japanese Canadians and two bound volumes containing an index to individuals interviewed, data sheets and consent forms for use of the material.

The fonds consists of photocopies of minute books of the Gay Alliance Toward Equality (1971-1980), photocopies of selected items in the files of the organization and a list of files created by G.A.T.E. The fonds consists of two series: Administrative Files and Subject Files. The Administrative Files series consists of meeting minutes, correspondence, financial statements, and the constitution and policies and principles guidelines for the organization. The Subject Files series contains files of a variety of subjects with which the Gay Alliance Toward Equality dealt.

The fonds consists of correspondence between E. Herbert Norman and his family (1922-1957), Norman's will and photographs of him and other family members. There are also articles about his career and other biographical information gathered for tributes after his death. Also included are materials generated by his brother Howard Norman.

Fonds consists mostly of cartographic materials relating to reconnaissance trips taken by R.C. Harris. The maps are both historic and those drawn up by Harris for his trips, incorporating old trails on current maps. While the inclusive dates of the map collection are from 1835 - 1981, the majority of these maps were created from 1880 -1930. They are organized according to a personal classification system maintained by R.C. Harris. The remainder of the fonds consists of surveys, plans, photos, correspondence, topographical notes, magazine and newspaper clippings, Harris research notes, books, reports, brochures, photocopies, and book reviews.

The fonds consists of photocopied minute books of the Finnish Workers' Association "Raivaija" (1910-1918), Finnish Organization of Canada, Local No. 55 (1934-1969), and Webster's Corner Socialist Local (1922-1955). The fonds also includes photocopies of financial records of Local No. 55 (1949-1957) and of subject files pertaining to the development of the Finnish culture in Canada.

Fonds consists of an annotated draft manuscript for Takashimas 1971 book "A Child in Prison Camp".

The fonds consists of biographical information, diaries (1962-1966), manuscripts, correspondence and collected historical material pertaining to the Haney Agricultural Association (1906-1962), Fraser Valley Japanese Language School (1920-1953), Nipponia Home (1941-1969) and the Japanese Canadian United Church (1919-1966).

The fonds includes records of the International Military Tribunal for the Far East (1946-47). It includes trial transcripts, biographical information on defendants, prosecution evidence, and copies of contemporary news accounts and interpretations of the trials. Research notes including printed materials, photographs, ephemera, and interview transcripts used for the writing of hundreds of short articles, news programmes, and full-length books (manuscripts also included in the collection), correspondence, and radio programme transcripts reflect Conde's integral involvement in Asian foreign affairs.

The fonds consists of business and personal correspondence, clippings, ephemera, a black and white film of E. Herbert Norman's Award Presentation, manuscripts, legal documents pertaining to his published works, speeches, conference papers by Japanese scholars and miscellaneous Japanese material.

The fonds consists of field research material for the Coast Salish (1935/36) and Tsimshian (1940) Indians of B.C.

The fonds consists of extensive correspondence that reflects Swan's personal life and professional work as collector of Indian artifacts, as well as several cashbooks, estate records and miscellaneous items. The fonds also includes the official records of Swan's work as Notary Public, U.S. Commissioner, Pilot Commissioner, Hawaiian Consul, and Commissioner of Oregon.

The fonds consists of Miller's slides of missionaries, hospitals, and houses in Japan, including street scenes of Tokyo.

The fonds consists of correspondence and writings of R.A. Shiomi and material relating to the activities of, and Shiomi's participation in, the Japanese Canadian Citizens Association. There is also some material on the issue of the internment of Japanese Canadians during World War II.

The fonds consists of correspondence, reports, notes, speeches, minutes, press releases, clippings and printed material arising from Shearer's career as social activist, planner, and teacher (1975-1988). Records include much material relating to the Solidarity Coalition, human rights, and the Multicultural Societies and Service Agencies of British Columbia.

The fonds consists of a manuscript, black-and-white and colour prints, and slide images relating to life in the Szechuan province of China (1920-1950). A manuscript entitled A Trip to Tibet (Summer 1930) with photographs chronicles a trip taken by the Crooks with fellow medics and missionaries. The considerable slide and print collection reveals aspects of Chinese people, life and topography as well as Asian-Christian subjects.
