The photographs consist mainly of images relating to Savary Island, Vancouver Island and other area of B.C.'s coast where Spilsbury lived and carried out his activities. As well as images of early native and logging sites and towns and topography of B.C., they also provide a record of Spilsbury's paintings. Photographs also depict Spilsbury's English relatives (1870-1906), friends and family at New Westminster, Whonnock and Savary Island, logging operations at Theodosia Arm in the 1930s, aircraft and personnel of Queen Charlotte Airlines, and equipment and personnel of Spilsbury and Hepburn.

The fonds consists of correspondence pertaining to the building of the Lake of the Woods Milling Company in Keewatin, Ontario (1887-1889) and three school exercise books belonging to John Mather (1837 and 1838).

Humbird's journals of his overseas trips for Seaboard (1937-1945) and photographs of Seaboard personnel, delegations, ships, ports, logging operations, and sawmills.

The maps are both historic and those drawn up by Harris for his trips, incorporating old trails on current maps. While the inclusive dates of the map collection are from 1835 - 1981, the majority of these maps were created from 1880 -1930. They are organized according to a personal classification system maintained by R.C. Harris. The remainder of the fonds consists of surveys, plans, photos, correspondence, topographical notes, magazine and newspaper clippings, Harris research notes, books, reports, brochures, photocopies, and book reviews.

The fonds consists of ninety-four original watercolours of British Columbian life, mainly of social life, customs, and dress in Hudson's Bay Company posts and along various transportation routes (1874-1880). Sketch book includes four photographs of Fort McLeod, Stuart Lake and the artist. An accrual to the fonds fonds consists of artwork and a published memoir of H. Bullock-Webster. The artworks depict scenes from the daily life Bullock-Webster experienced managing the trade post in Northern British Columbia in the late 19th century. Nine original pieces are included along with ca. 35 clippings of artwork, comics, and illustrations published in The Graphic magazine. The included memoir, entitled, Memories of Sports and Travel Fifty Years Ago: From the Hudson’s Bay Company to New Zealand, contains the author’s account of his young adulthood in Britain, his work for the Hudson Bay Company, and his emigration to New Zealand, along with several illustrations by the author.

The fonds consists of correspondence that spans the years 1898 to 1978, with the bulk of the material from 1930 to 1965. Fonds also includes transcripts, press clippings, notebooks, reports, minutes and publications. The fonds reflects the overlap of personal and corporate interests in MacMillan's life. Correspondence regarding UBC, Canadian and foreign business and personal contacts, his relationship with community groups and memberships he held, as well as his family history is included.
