The fonds consists of records related to the Service, Office, and Retail Workers Union of Canada’s (SORWUC’s) local chapters 2 and 4 administrative activities, organizing endeavours and legal proceedings. Although the records are primarily related to the United Bank Works (UBW), local 2, and Bank and Finance Workers Union, local 4, many records are related to SORWUC’s national activities as a trade union. These activities include organization and certification of new bargaining units, filing unfair labour practices on behalf of union members, pamphleting and raising funds for the union as a whole, organizing strikes, and fighting court battles for the right to organize in new sectors, such as the banks. Additionally, SORWUC kept various reference materials on topics related to feminism and the rights of laborers. The fonds reflect these different organizational activities in three series: Legal, Organizing, and Administration.

The Legal series consists of records related to the union’s legal activities. These records include Unfair Labour Practice (ULP) charges filed against banks and heard by the Canadian Labour Relations Board (CLRB), applications for certification in the CLRB, notes, correspondence, news clippings, and legal briefs.

The Organizing series consists of material relating to the organizing activities of SORWUC, including correspondence, research, membership forms, sign-up sheets and information relating to bank branches seeking certification. Also included are contract proposals, organizing committee papers by branch, and minutes of negotiation meetings, press clippings and press releases.

The Administration series relates to the various administrative activities of SORWUC locals 2 and 4; including financial activities, research for court cases, as well as related issues to the union such as unemployment and racism; public relations documents including press releases; and minutes of meetings.

The fonds consists of correspondence, reports, notes, speeches, minutes, press releases, clippings and printed material arising from Shearer's career as social activist, planner, and teacher (1975-1988). Records include much material relating to the Solidarity Coalition, human rights, and the Multicultural Societies and Service Agencies of British Columbia.

The fonds consists of a letterpress copybook containing his outgoing letters as Premier of British Columbia (1898-1900), as well as financial records, correspondence and other material relating to the Dominion Ranch, Semlin and Stuart and the Interior Stock Raisers' Association (1870-1918).

The fonds consists of Executive Board minutes and general office files as well as correspondence, reports, speeches, questionnaires, minutes and agendas, printed material, and subject files relating to the following program committees of SPARC Committees on Aging, Coalition on Children, Youth, and the Law, Health Committee, Panel on Handicapped, and Transportation Committee. Other records relate to various topics such as financial resources, housing, patient's rights, long term care, and organizational skills.

The collection consists of records covering the period from the granting of the Victoria and Esquimalt Telephone Company charter in 1880 to 1982 when B.C. Telephone Company employees were laid off without notice. It includes union minutes, arbitration details, correspondence, press clippings, constitutions, agreements, and financial reports relating to the Telecommunications Workers Union of B.C.

The fonds consists of union audits, case files, source files, union newspapers, convention reports, financial records and related material pertaining to research work conducted by the company on behalf of various unions. Also included is a small amount of TURB's own administrative records.

The fonds consists of copies of constitutions, financial records, minute books, note books, correspondence and maps pertaining to the formation and subsequent activities of the Union. Lists of members, names of executives, dues statements, labour legislation, benefit plans, membership applications, applications to represent groups of workers and to void agreements, manuals, pamphlets, newsletters, agreements, etc. are included among the material.

The fonds consists of textual material (subject files, correspondence, minutes, financial statements, and printed material) relating to Tom McGrath's activities with the following unions: International Association of Bridge, Structural and Ornamental Ironworkers, Vancouver Local 97, 1955-1964; Canadian Ironworkers Local No. 1, 1960-1968; Wood, Wine and Metal Lather's International Union, 1960-1973; Canadian Brotherhood of Railway, Transport and General Workers, Seamen's Section, Local 400, 1968-1982; and the Canadian Merchant Navy Association, 1990-1995. The fonds also includes interviews with various individuals including Frank Kennedy, Art Kube, Cliff Anstein, and Jess Succamore, involved in solidarity and union issues, his political campaign on behalf of the New Democratic Party in the Vancouver-Little Mountain provincial riding, and photographs of the Second Narrows Bridge.

In addition, the fonds consists of the records of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen (.27 m, 1942-1968), the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen (5.25 m, 1919-1969), the Vancouver Joint Council of Railway Unions (.55 m, 1971-1984), and the Vancouver Rail Task Force, (1 m, mainly 1977-1982).

The fonds consists of minute books of both regular meetings (1889-1956) and other Council Executive Board (1907-1920) of the Vancouver Trades and Labour Council (VTLC), affiliated union files and subject files of the Vancouver and District Labour Council (1956-1983). Fonds also includes minutes from the B.C. Federationist (1912-1922), the Vancouver Labour Temple Company (1909-1920), the Oil Refinery Workers' Union (1918-1921) and an address book with clippings from the British Columbia Federation of Labour (CLC).

An accrual was added in 2007 containing printed material, minutes, correspondence from 1988-1997, financial and other operations records, ephemera, and records relating to the creation of the Canadian section and the drafting of its constitution. An additional accrual was added in 2015 including video recordings of W.I.L.P.F. and affiliated organizations events, and other organizational records.

The fonds contains records of the ACSOH, Habitat I and Vision Habitat, as well as Oberlander’s records related to Habitat II, World Urban Forums 2 and 3, and other UN Habitat associated activities and research. Contents mainly consist of correspondence, reports, publications, governance and planning documentation and research.

Fonds consists of records of the Vancouver Chapter of the Association of Records Managers (ARMA). Records in the fonds have come in multiple accruals. The first six accruals are described and inventoried in the attached pdf. The 2014 accrual is described and inventoried within this database record. Fonds materials include a history of the Vancouver Chapter, incorporation file, annual reports, financial records, minutes, correspondence, photographs from events, printed and published material, awards and award documents, and clippings relating to the activities of the Association.

The fonds consists of the records of the B.C. Youth Parliament dating from its first session in 1924. It includes journals of the House, correspondence relating to sessions and group activities, membership lists, reports, press clippings, press releases, records relating to playground development in urban housing complexes, records reflecting the administration and operations of the Parliament, and photographs.

The fonds also contains materials which reflect the activities of the Labour History Provincial Specialist Association of the BCTF and the Sechelt Indian Curriculum Project and a film, "For Twenty Cents a Day".

The fonds primarily contains the organizational, administrative, and operational records of the V.I.P.O.W.C. and the Irish Solidarity Committee dating from 1977 to 1994. The fonds also includes 165 audio cassettes of Saoirse Eirleann. The fonds divides into three series: The Textual Material Series, the Saoirse Eirleann Audio Cassette Series, and the Events Material Series.

The fonds consists of drafts of a long version and a short version of an unpublished manuscript, "Running Scared", as well as notebooks and subject files dealing with the consequences of dieselization of the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) in the Revelstoke Division betweek 1957 and 1984. Powell collected extensive documentation from the relevant unions, Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen and the United Transportation Union, in response to this event and it is included in the fonds.

The fonds consists of photocopied minute books of the Finnish Workers' Association "Raivaija" (1910-1918), Finnish Organization of Canada, Local No. 55 (1934-1969), and Webster's Corner Socialist Local (1922-1955). The fonds also includes photocopies of financial records of Local No. 55 (1949-1957) and of subject files pertaining to the development of the Finnish culture in Canada.

The fonds consists of constitutional papers, minutes, and bylaws, media coverage files, correspondence, newsletters, financial records, and subject files pertaining to visitors and guests, committees, projects, charter flights and club associates.

The fonds consists of correspondence, financial records, receipts, invoices, printed material, and related items pertaining to the activities of the Pitt Meadows Japanese Farmers' Association (1937-1942) and the Canadian Japanese Association in Vancouver. There are references to the Japanese Language School and the town of Mission, as well as printed material pertaining to the Sino-Japanese War.

The fonds consists of records reflecting McDonald's career with the Greater Vancouver Regional Planning Board. It includes subject files, press clippings, and printed material. The fonds also includes records relating to planning the development of Kitimat, B.C. and in the province, in general.

Fonds consists of records that reflect McKenzie's law and political career. Records include correspondence, speeches and articles, ephemera collected by him, scrapbooks documenting various campaigns and printed materials related to C.C.F. and labour movements.

A small portion of records were created by McKenzie's brother, Arthur McKenzie. These include correspondences and articles written by Arthur in the form of clippings.

The fonds reflects Winch's various interests in the cause of humanity ranging from capital punishment to the protection of fur-bearing animals. The files also contain much valuable information on the activities of the C.C.F. and his role within the party. To a lesser extent, the files contain information on his earlier activities within the labour movement and events during the depression of the 1930's.

The fonds consists of records pertaining to Turner's activities in the CCF and the NDP in British Columbia. Included are manuscripts of Vancouver Workers' Theatre dramas and poetry, subject files on Israel, clippings, pamphlets on cooperative farming, and records from the CCF Agricultural Committee and the Trade Union Committee.

The fonds consists of correspondence and subject files pertaining to various locals of the International Association of Machinists. Also included is material from the B.C. Federation of Labour, Canadian Congress of Labour (1970-1984), Ontario Federation of Labour (1972- 1977), the provincial and federal CCF and NDP, as well as other material pertaining to labour and politics. There are also tapes of radio broadcasts and material relating to Thayer's personal interests.

The fonds consists of records chronicling the growth of socialism in Canada and the formation and history of the Cooperative Commonwealth Federation and the New Democratic Party, as well as with various aspects of the issues of human rights and of peace and disarmament. There is also autobiographical material and records pertaining to Unitarianism.

The fonds consists of club ledger books (1957-1969), minutes of the CCF Vancouver Centre District Council (1945-1946), membership file (ca. 1966), an undated historical sketch of the club and other collected materials.

Included are notices and agendas, minutes, correspondence, membership lists, financial records, policy, policy committees, maps, photographs, convention proceedings, geographical materials and constituency records. Also included are films and sound recordings.

The collection consists of subject files relating to civic elections (1941-1971) and the Cooperative Commonwealth Federation. Also included are approximately 100 brochures and pamphlets pertaining to socialism.

The fonds consists of regular minutes (1919-1970), conciliation reports from various unions (1943-1974), correspondence (1953-1975) and office files from Southern Interior shops (1957-1980). The fonds also includes IAM Grand Lodge correspondence (1953-1973, incomplete), receipts (1919-1961) and records for Lodges 131 (1943-1961), 109 (1949- 1966) and 867 (1951-1964). Major correspondents include companies such as the Schlage Lock Company, Brunette Machine Works, and Bitco Sales and Service as well as the Metal Industries Association. The fonds also includes agreements, negotiations, and correspondence with many companies whose major customers are part of the mining, forestry and fishing sectors of the British Columbia economy.

The fonds consists of agreements and printed material detailing the activities of the United Steelworkers of America in British Columbia (1966-1973) and personal correspondence relating to King's activities (1973-1975).

The fonds consists of her photocopies of archival and printed material that she gathered in writing her book about Ginger Goodwin, British Columbia's legendary labour leader who was shot on Vancouver Island during World War I while evading the draft.
